I feel like I have been scammed/ fraud…
I feel like I have been scammed/ fraud committed by Del Air and I've tried to contact them multiple times to get this corrected however, they never return my phone calls.
On 8/28/25 Del Air came to my house to sell me a new air conditioner. They sold me a Lennox Elite because I was supposed to get FREE 10 year maintenance, 10 year labor and 10 year parts worth up to $5000 in savings. The sales person told me they had a special on finance it at 7.9%. He told me the total for the ac unit and the new hot water tank would be $26k and I needed to put down a 2k deposit. This is where everything starts to go wrong. He got on the phone with Service Finance and he told me I didn't qualify for the 7.9% finance that they are approving me at 9.9%. I wasn't happy because I do have good credit considering I just bought this house last year and put down over 80%. Anyways I agreed to the 9.9%. I gave them a check for 2k thinking my balance would be 24k. I never saw anything in writing but had to sign a blank tablet to get my air conditioner. I asked about the paperwork and he said I would get everything in the mail in a couple of weeks and they do everything over the internet now.
I received my first bill in September and it didn't look correct. I had to call Del Air and tell them I never received my paperwork. I finally got my paperwork by email on 10/6/25. At which time I noticed they were charging me incorrectly on my interest rate. Service finance is and has been charging me 10.9% that my paperwork says. 9.9%. I also saw the price was originally 28k+ and not 26k+. I also notice they charged me $3500 for warranty and Maintenance that was supposed to be free with getting the better air conditioner.
I have called Del Air in November a few times in January and February. Now this month I get an automated service and can't even talk to a person. No supervisor has called me back. I contacted Service Finance by phone and email on 2/9/26. I sent them all the documents stating they are charging me incorrectly. Del and Service Finance refuse to correct anything.
Beware!!! Do not call Del-Air AC
This was one of the most frustrating and unprofessional service experiences I’ve ever had.
Del-Air AC & Plumbing sent out two different technicians on separate days, and not only did they fail to fix the issue, they couldn’t even agree on what was wrong. The first technician left no notes, couldn’t locate basic system information, and clearly didn’t know how to handle a unit their own company installed. That’s a serious breakdown in both training and internal communication.
Management involvement was just as ineffective. Alex, who identified himself as a supervisor or manager, added zero value. Instead of taking ownership or resolving the situation, he simply had someone call the technician to question him in real time. It felt disorganized, reactive, and completely lacking leadership.
The second visit was even worse. The technician contacted the manufacturer using the wrong serial number, which caused confusion about the warranty status and wasted even more time. He also prematurely diagnosed a failed compressor without properly testing it first. That’s not just sloppy, it’s misleading and could have led to unnecessary and expensive repairs.
What’s truly alarming is the carelessness during the repair attempt. After finally opening the unit and doing the testing he should have done from the start, he reassembled it incorrectly to the point where the fan blades nearly cut into the wire harness. That’s not just incompetence, that’s a safety hazard.
Amanda, the supervisor who was sent out, was the only person who showed any level of professionalism. She was attentive and tried to keep things on track, but even she couldn’t salvage the situation or provide a resolution. It felt like she was there to babysit a technician who clearly shouldn’t have been working independently.
At this point, I have zero confidence in Del-Air’s ability to diagnose or repair even basic issues. Between the lack of communication, inconsistent diagnostics, poor workmanship, and potential safety risks, this company does not meet even the most basic standards of service.
Avoid Del-Air at all costs. This was a complete waste of time and a deeply disappointing experience.
Professional technician getting the complete job done
The technician, Carlos Flores, was on time and introduced himself very politely. I showed him where the condenser was outside and the unit inside. He explained what he was doing as he serviced the units. He was skilled and verified that all was functioning well before he went to write his report. He mentioned that my unit is functioning well and pointed out how it maintains the humidity at 50%. I mentioned I preferred it lower and thus set it at 40%. Carlos verified that the thermostat was working well before he left. Thank you Carlos being a professional Del-Air technician.
I had an outstanding experience with…
I had an outstanding experience with John from Del-Air HVAC! From the moment he arrived, he was professional, courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to thoroughly assess the situation, explain everything in a way that was easy to understand, and made sure all of my questions were answered.
John’s attention to detail and commitment to doing the job right truly stood out. He worked efficiently, kept everything clean, and went above and beyond to ensure my system was running perfectly before he left. It’s clear he takes pride in his work and genuinely cares about his customers.
If you’re looking for someone reliable, honest, and highly skilled, I highly recommend asking for John. He made what could have been a stressful situation completely smooth and worry-free!
They never show up!
I had this company install 2 new AC units. The original install was a disaster, and they had to come back 3 times to even get them working. They never closed out the permit, and now after an inspection, there are multiple issues before the permit can be closed. I had an appointment from 8-12 on 2/19, they never showed or never called. I called to verify they were coming 5 times throughout the day. Now, someone was supposed to come today, 2/20 between 1-5, and now I got a text saying they won't come because they are taking care of their "priority customers". After being missed multiple times, and spending a fortune on 2 new units, I should be a priority. I called and sat on hold for 40 minutes until they hung up on me. When calling their main office, the agent says "there is nothing I can do". I have asked for a manager to call me, multiple times, but they never do. This company is horrible, stay away!
I had a check up on my home unit
I had a check up on my home unit. Two service personnel came to do the check up. About 30 minutes later, the guys came in with around $5,000 worth of things that could go wrong.
WOW! Was I surprised. Well, that didn’t go well. Oh, I forgot, when that closed my electrical panel, they broke the latch on the door.
Not coming to appt
I’ve gotten 12 texts messages for a 4-6pm slotted time. It’s now 7:50 pm and he’s supposed still not on his way. This is the 3rd time they have been this late.. I called and ask to speak to a manager and was told they would have one call me in 1-3 days. The excuse why he’s still not here is there is another customer with a bigger problem..
Incompetent and Unethical
Our a/c unit suddenly stopped working, so we called Delaire since we have a contract with them, as they have worked on our unit since our home was constructed less than 3 years ago. They sent technicians Gavin and Ronnie, who supposedly assessed the problem. They concluded that our drain line was clogged and showed us a photo of a system that appeared never to have been cleaned. Interestingly enough, my husband cleaned the line last week. In my opinion, the technicians just used the same photo of a clogged drain for every house they went to. They insisted the line needed to be cleaned, so $300 plus later, the system was working, but only for a very short time. The following day, it stopped working again, same problem. I called Delaire, and William S presented. It was immediately noted that the “float was not operating correctly.” This is the SAME float that the technicians (Gavin and Ronnie) the day before said was working (and that they put on my invoice). We were then advised by William S. that our unit needed a new “2 pole amp.” Then we were told by William S. that we needed a new capacitor. Almost $500 later, we thought our issues were addressed. We had growing concerns about the inconsistencies among the three Delaire technicians (Gavin, Ronnie, and William S.). I decided to call another A/C company to evaluate the Delaire job. With that being said, our A/C unit does NOT run on a two pole switch…Delaire LIE! When I called Delaire, I was told this is the “terminology that they use.” - DELAIRE LIE! The capacitor was NOT installed correctly-DELAIRE LIE AS WILLIAM S. SAID IT WAS INSTALLED. It was left hanging, and it would have caused irreversible damage. William S. left brackets and bolts on the outside of the condenser. Our new A/C company properly installed the capacitor. The sole thing that Delaire technicians Ronnie, Gavin, and William S. did was babble to us in a/c technical jargon/bs. IMO, It was as though they had been trained to BS customers and scam them. I will never, ever allow Delaire onto my property again. My goal in writing this review is to expose Delaire’s unethical practices, which I believe constitute a scam, as well as their technicians who tow the line by screwing customers.
Disappointing is an understatement
Disappointing is an understatement. We interview multiple vendors selected these guys and when a Manual J report was required for install things fell apart. They simply did not respond to MANY calls after saying they were working on it. We ended going with someone esle AFTER two weeks. If they did not want to generate or unable to create the report simply say so and we would have moved on. Don't say yes we sign agreement and then NOTHING
7-27-25
7-27-25
T have been a loyal customer of Dei-Air since 2007 when I built my home. Had always had reliable & well priced service ; until now : on 7-11-25 had a new Hvac system installed . It was supposed to the 14.7 seer &came with 10 yr. parts, labor,& maintenance $12,243 . About 10 days later I received the permits & a certificate of product rating :also Lake County office of building services from Del-Air in the mail. On this paper work it states the unit is 14.3 seer. It only has 1 yr. labor & maintenance . Supposed to be $ 9.203 this is not the one i ordered . Thats over $3000 difference I paid over $12,000 . When the installers were here I had asked the installation supervisor what seer is this unit & "he said he didn't know". I said you don't know ;come on now! Thought that was strange; now I guess I know why? Have repeatedly called Del-Air & told over & over. They have reached out to the Supervisor & Adam the salesman ; & they will get back with me in a few hours. haven't been called back yet! I also called Adam the salesman on my own personally several times. He's ghost also. I would like to hear from Del-Air & get this resolved.
Del-Air fail
I have used Del-Air for about two years. I liked our HVAC technician, Peter. He has always done a good job, and I have always requested him. Del-Air is now in the electrical and plumbing business.
During a recent visit for my biannual service checkup, Peter had an electrician with him and told me they now do electrical work, and as part of our service, would do a checkup. I explained an issue with a breaker tripping once every 2-3 months when I use the espresso machine and toaster oven simultaneously. After the electrician spent several hours looking into the issue, he told me I needed new breakers. He called the office and received a quote to replace the electrical breakers. They said replacing them would cost around $1,250 if I approve.
I was flabbergasted because this was an outrageous price. I have been in business for over 26 years and know the breakers cost around $50 - $75 at most. I said I would absolutely not approve that charge and to put the breakers back in place. They put the breakers back in, but now they are not staying engaged and trip immediately. He said that they were bad. I told them they were working perfectly fine, except for the occasional tripping when I used two pieces of kitchen equipment that required a heavier load. He continued to work on this, but to no avail. I then discovered that several areas of the house did not have power. They put three "junk" breakers in my box at no charge, but it came with a cost. After they left, I would have lights in my house blink on and off, causing issues.
I called the company to explain the problems, but they said, "We tried to fix the issue, but you refused to have the repairs done." After being put on hold two times with the representative going back and forth with another person, she said that she would transfer the call to them, and they could explain. A woman named Beth answered, who said her title was administrator. She could not have been more rude and dogmatic talking to me on the phone. I attempted to explain the real issue, but she was not listening. I asked for another electrician to come out to check the work. She said only one electrician worked for the company on the West Coast of Florida, but she could send the same electrician back out. I told her that it would be a waste of time because this person is the one who caused the issues, and I wanted a qualified person to look at my panel box to see what problem the previous electrician caused. She said she would tell her superiors and get back to me. I patiently waited for over a week and decided to call Beth back. This time, she was friendlier to me and explained that she had told them about the issue and that they were supposed to contact me. She was frustrated that they didn't call me back and said she would let them know I called back. It has been five business days and I am still waiting for a call.
Company charged us $374 for just…
Called Del-Air as our condensation line was clogged. They charged us $374 for just blowing out the condensation line. Will think hard before ever using them again. They showed up same day, which was nice, HVAC still worked so had no urgency on our end though. Also claimed it just happened as we no longer have maintenance plan (last maintenance visit Sep 2024) and tried to sell us one.
DEL-AIR IS OWNED BY A SNAKE IN THE GRASS
DON'T EVER EVER!!!! CALL THIS COMPANY TO DO ANY<<<< TYPE OF SERVICE ON YOUR HOUSE. TO SAY THE OWNER OF THIS (SO CALLED BUSINESS) IS A SNAKE IN THE GRASS IS BEING SUPER NICE! THIS GUY HAS SCREWED HIS EMPLOYEES FOR A LOOOOOONG LOOOOONG TIME AND NOW HE THINKS RUNNING A NEW TV AD WILL HAVE MADE PEOPLE FORGET WHAT A SNAKE IN THE GRASS THIS GUY IS. NOT GOING TO HAPPEN GUY. NOT TO MENTION SELLING PEOPLE REBUILT A/C SYSTEMS AND SELLING FOR FULL PRICE!!
This company is only a scam
This company is only a scam. Complete scam artists. This company cold called my elderly grandparents stating they had a 29.00 special to tune up their air conditioner. They showed up the day of service. The “technician” told my grandfather that his 5 year old ac unit was a hunk of “s&@t” and it was going to cost him $15,000 for a brand new ac unit and tried to pressure him into signing a contract that day!!!!! His house is 900sq ft!!!! Who the hell pays $15,000 for a new ac unit on a 900sq ft house? My grandfather realized this company was scamming him so he told them to get off his property. Well… they left and guess what. His ac unit stopped working. It cost him hundreds of dollars to fix. They literally sabotaged his ac unit by putting a part back in upside down. Stay away from this company! Scam artists!!!!
Beware of DelAir service
DelAir technician came and check why the fan of my AC was not running. After a few minutes messing the the condenser contactor, he said my ac defrost board was bad and it cost $1,800 to replace it. I thought that was way expensive for a tiny board so I called a different technician. It turn out nothing is wrong with the defrost board, nor the contactor. It was the plunger on the contactor not pulling in because of the bad capacitor. The new capacitor is only $20 on Amazon. I'm glad I didn't get robbed by DelAir. Very bad business. Don't do business with them.
Beware of Delair's Poor Customer Service and Faulty Products
I purchased a Lennox unit from Delair in March 2024. Recently, on February 6, we called Delair to check our unit because it wasn't working. A technician came to inspect the unit but couldn't fix it. The following day, another technician was sent, but he also couldn't resolve the problem.
On the third day, a third technician diagnosed it as an electrical problem requiring a motherboard and some electronic parts that needed replacement. We were told they would return with the necessary parts by Wednesday. Wednesday came and went, and no one showed up. When we called to follow up, we were told the parts had arrived, but there was still no definitive answer on when the issue would be resolved.
This is incredibly frustrating, especially considering this is a brand-new unit. It's unacceptable that they don't have the necessary parts on hand and that we've received such poor communication and service. After spending thousands of dollars on this unit, we're now stuck without air conditioning and no clear resolution in sight.
I strongly advise against purchasing from Delair due to their unprofessionalism and lack of reliability.
Technician showed up with a sales…
Technician showed up with a sales person. 16 days without a/c. Told part would arrive in 1-2 weeks. Calls go to a call center. Always told parts dept. will call, but they don’t. Too big for personal service.
Over Priced and under trained
On Jan 20 DEL-AIR tech arrived at my Florida home (Sanford area) to fix heating on my HVAC. Spent 30-40 minutes or so trying to fix the issue but could not. Came back saying that my 18 year old system needed to be replaced and priced out systems between 8900 – 25K.
I live in NY so I couldn’t be there but since I’m no HVAC expert I asked my brother-in-law to speak on my behave. He’s been in the business for 25 plus years.
All I can say is your pricing model is outrageous. Your more expensive than NY prices. WORST part my brother-in-law sent over one of his friends next day and fixed everything in 20 minutes.
I paid Del-Air $99 for nothing. You need to train your people better. I’ll be purchasing a new system from more qualified HVAC company
Del-Air made a huge mistake
Del-Air (TOOK OVER ARS) made a huge mistake in partnering with ARS. The old saying "Cheat me once, shame on you, cheat me twice, shame on me". ARS installed my 3 ton system (1,300 sq ft home) about 7 years ago for $8,800.. That was my first mistake. I continued using them because I thought they would take responsibilities. I had continued with yearly service contracts for regular maintenance. With each maintenance came a huge bill for a "necessary part". $2,800 for a UV system, $500 for a capacitor and so on. That last straw came the other day. AC was blowing warmer air. The tech (A guy who always had a condescending attitude, I knew it was going to be trouble) showed up and took all of 3 minutes inside & 3 minutes outside and determined I needed a "$4,000" repair for as Freon leak repair. When I asked the scope & where the leak was, I got an eye roll, a shoulder shrug and a smirk. I lost it and gave him a piece of my mind as to his unprofessional approach and obvious attempt to screw me yet again. He left with my system not fully put back together. I had a local guy who was recommended and showed up the next. He came back today (Monday) with the part & repaired for $1,530. After consulting with another professional, and going over my bills from them, I was informed I overpaid more than $5,000 over the years. I complained to someone there who promised to call me back. Yea right.
