Extremely pleased to kick-start my 2026 newsletter writing efforts with my first GROUP GROUP research report: an ecosystem focus on South Australia, fitting that I drop it on the day their annual Tech & Startup Fest SOUTHSTART...starts. Having immersed myself in all the cities around Aus by running events, growing brands and also enjoying meeting builders from all walks of life, I was very intent on writing some pieces this year on these particular ecosystems. And especially, on some left-of-centre happenings and some under-the-radar builders who call them home. It's unconventional and covers a broad span, but has managed a nice mix between some data, some interviews, some recommendations of people to keep an eye on, and particularly prioritising including areas outside the startup bubble.
