Big, big, BIIIIIIIG week for Sting alumni Flox Intelligence. First: winning the $1M grand prize at GENIUS NY, one of the world’s largest accelerator programs for uncrewed systems and robotics. Then: announcing Syracuse as their global HQ and launchpad for North American expansion. On top of that, Flox is now also partnering with Alstom to advance AI-driven rail safety through successful field trials in Sweden. The technology detects wildlife near tracks in real time and activates deterrents to reduce collisions, improving both safety and operational reliability across rail networks. Flox is building AI that helps humans and wildlife coexist by steering animals away from critical infrastructure and high-risk areas, with applications already being tested across rail, roads, and other infrastructure in Europe and North America. 🦌 💚 🚅 TRAINS JUST GOT SMARTER One year ago, we got Flox Intelligence on board our first Alstom trains — running real daily service across Sweden. Today, we are going public with the first results — and I'm honestly still buzzing. When we started, the question was simple but huge: Can our AI actually see wildlife from a moving train, in real time, accurately enough to speak to them in time? After a year of running on multiple trains in daily operations across Tåg i Bergslagen lines — Dalabanan, Bergslagsbanan, Godsstråket through Bergslagen, and Bergslagenpendeln — together with operator VR, the answer is a very loud YES. ✅ What we've validated in year one: 🦌 Our AI reliably detects moose, roe deer, livestock and other key species along the tracks - even at high speeds. ⚡ We are even picking up smaller species that have basically never shown up in railway statistics before. 🚦 🔊 Phase 2 already went live in April 2026 — full system with detection + our bioacoustic deterrence working together on board 📍 Multiple trains. Multiple lines. Real Nordic winters and springs. Real data. 📈 And the context for why this matters: ~5,000 wildlife collisions are reported on Swedish railways every single year. Delays. Repair costs. Animals suffering. A heavy emotional toll on train drivers. Smarter railways, safer wildlife 🦌🚆 In partnership with Swedish start-up Flox Intelligence, we have successfully trialled an innovative AI-based solution to help reduce collisions with wildlife - a key step towards improving both rail safety and environmental protection.
