  • A lot of startup capital still flows through the same cities, rooms and networks. That means many strong founders never get the visibility they deserve. That’s why we’re excited to see Tre startups launch, a format connecting carefully selected startups with investors from across Sweden through pitches, interviews and deeper conversations about the people and businesses behind the companies. A big thank you to the team at Investor Studios for highlighting three Sting startups, and to our own Mia de Bésche, Head of Investor & Investor Relations at Sting, for joining the conversation. Featuring: 🔹 Freya Industries 🔹 Renewbeam 🔹 REBATTEX Three ambitious companies solving very different problems, from industrial production to circularity and sustainable infrastructure. Proud to see these founders get the spotlight. More of this, please.

  • Yesterday, Sting brought together our full network of Industry Experts for the first time. Founders met experienced operators and specialists from energy, climate tech, health, medtech, mobility, automotive, industrials and defence — all bringing deep sector knowledge and firsthand experience from the industries our startups are building in today. The afternoon was filled with networking, speed meetings, new connections and thoughtful discussions around growth, technology and scaling. Over the years, we’ve built this network with one goal in mind: giving founders access to people who truly understand their markets, their challenges and the opportunities ahead. A big thank you to all Industry Experts who joined us yesterday and shared their time, insights and experience — and to the founders who came prepared, engaged and ready to grow. • You've been thinking about it. The idea that won't leave you alone. The problem nobody's solving properly. The tech you know could change things, if only you had the right room to build it in. Here's the thing about "the right time": it doesn't show up. You go get it. Sting Core opens October 5th. 12–16 companies. Climate. Health. AI. DeepTech. 6 to 18 months of the most tailored startup support in the Nordics. Coaching from people who've actually built and exited companies. Investor access that doesn't require knowing the right person at the right dinner party. A shot at 600,000 SEK via Propel Capital. And when you're done, Demo Day. 200+ handpicked investors in the room. The seats are limited. The applications are open. What's the worst that can happen? 👉 Apply: https://lnkd.in/dKxD9gJR #StingCore #StartupSweden #DeepTech #ClimaTech #HealthTech #AIStartups

  • Raising capital as a healthtech startup is rarely straightforward... What investors expect, how your cap table is structured, and when venture capital actually makes sense can shape your company much earlier than most founders think. In this webinar, Mia de Bésche, Head of Investor Relations at Sting, will break down: – early-stage funding alternatives – what investors actually look for – how to think about dilution – and why your cap table matters more than you think We’ll also open up for a live Q&A with Peter Löwenhielm (Karolinska Institutet Innovation) and Olof Berglund (Sting). As a participant, you’ll also have the opportunity to book an individual follow-up session to discuss your company’s financing plan. 📅 Register by 31 May https://lnkd.in/drPCfaVC Part of the EU-funded project Circle of Lifescience.

  • 🚨 We’re hiring: Community & Events Manager at Sting!! This is not a “just run events” role. You’ll shape how founders, investors, partners, and the broader startup ecosystem experience Sting, from our biggest stages like Demo Day to the day-to-day feeling of walking into the office. We’re looking for someone who loves building communities, creating memorable experiences, and making things happen. You’ll work closely with some of the most ambitious startups in the Nordics and help create the environment around them: – founder events – investor gatherings – ecosystem meetups – alumni engagement – and the small details that make people want to come back If you’re deeply organized, service-minded, high-agency, and genuinely excited about startups and technology, we’d love to hear from you. Based in Stockholm. Swedish + English required. Read more and apply here: https://lnkd.in/dqRR5Pea

  • Big, big, BIIIIIIIG week for Sting alumni Flox Intelligence. First: winning the $1M grand prize at GENIUS NY, one of the world’s largest accelerator programs for uncrewed systems and robotics. Then: announcing Syracuse as their global HQ and launchpad for North American expansion. On top of that, Flox is now also partnering with Alstom to advance AI-driven rail safety through successful field trials in Sweden. The technology detects wildlife near tracks in real time and activates deterrents to reduce collisions, improving both safety and operational reliability across rail networks. Flox is building AI that helps humans and wildlife coexist by steering animals away from critical infrastructure and high-risk areas, with applications already being tested across rail, roads, and other infrastructure in Europe and North America. A strong example of deep tech moving from research into real-world impact. Two press releases you must read: https://lnkd.in/dyaYV7Xj https://lnkd.in/dWJjfMMe

  • Europe doesn’t have a talent problem. Or a research problem. It has a scale problem. That’s what @Rise Europe is changing. Last week in Lisbon, leaders from across Europe’s startup and scaleup ecosystems came together for the 4th Rise Europe Summit, hosted by the team at Beta-i • collaborative innovation. The focus was simple: move from alignment to action on the things that actually matter, talent, capital, infrastructure, and how we make it easier for companies to scale from here. No new narratives. Just a clearer shared direction on what needs to improve if Europe is going to compete globally where it counts: turning strong research into strong companies. Still early, still work to do, but the intent is there, and the coordination is getting sharper. Thanks to Beta-i for hosting and to everyone in the Rise Europe network pushing this forward. Stockholm is a #biotech powerhouse. We have world-class universities and a massive pipeline of talent, but most of it flows straight into MedTech and HealthTech. We think it’s time to shift the spotlight. Climate-improving biomanufacturing needs that same talent and passion. So, in our upcoming ClimateHack Stockholm meetup this month, we’re doing a little "advertising" for the planet. Join us on the 28th of May to hear from Nayanika Bhalla, PhD, Associate at Industrifonden, Marco Antonio Saucedo, CTO at enginzyme, and Daniel Skavén Ruben, Founding Editor at FoodTech Weekly on “𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 - 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝘆 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗳𝗮𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗲𝘀”. Our guest speakers will share their journey and answer questions from the audience. You’ll get a chance to meet the other attendees with some nice bites & drinks sponsored by Soruhl, and Industrifonden. Register for free here and join us at 17:30 on 28th of May at Sting, (A house Ark, Östermalmsgatan 26A, 114 26 Stockholm)! 👉 Sign-up: https://luma.com/8vhmmjpq ClimateHack Coline Jeannet

  • A useful reminder for anyone building early-stage: funding follows proof, not the other way around. And traction is usually what makes everything else fall into place.

What investors actually look for in early-stage startups “Nothing signals strength like traction.” – Emanuel Andersson, Propel Capital & Sting This month, we’re looking at funding and what it actually means to be ready for it. We spoke to Emanuel Andersson, working with early-stage investments at Propel Capital & Sting. Here’s how he thinks about funding: When is a startup actually ready to raise capital? When it’s a good deal for potential investors. At its core, it’s about risk and reward. The investor needs to see the possibility of earning significantly more than the capital they invest, within a reasonable timeframe. But potential alone isn’t enough. You also need to have reduced the risk enough for someone to be willing to invest today. That means: • the problem exists • customers are willing to pay • and you can actually deliver The more question marks you’ve removed, the better the deal. Ask yourself: What is the investor buying today? And what could it become in a year if everything goes according to plan? The answer is almost always tied to revenue. That’s where the journey is heading. What are the most common mistakes you see in early-stage pitches? 1. Not addressing a sufficiently valuable problem with a solution that is at least 10x better than what exists today 2. Not explaining why your solution is that 10x improvement — what’s the “secret sauce”? What do investors look at most in early stages: team, idea, or traction? The classic answer is team, and it’s a classic for a reason. For some reason, the best teams also tend to have the best ideas and the strongest traction. What can a founder do before reaching out to investors to increase their chances? Increase traction. Nothing signals strength more clearly. Build a clear plan for what the capital will achieve, double your momentum, and challenge yourself. Apply to Sting. When is it better to wait with funding? If you don’t need capital to be first to market, or to build a very complex product, it’s often better to focus on building traction. With a bit of luck, you might even build a billion-dollar company without external funding and keep the upside for yourself. Funding isn’t where a company begins. It’s a step that follows proof. Working on an idea? Let’s talk. Drivhuset Stockholm #Drivhuset #Startup #Funding #Entrepreneurship #VentureCapital #Sting
