As the doors close on another intense and productive IMEX Frankfurt, my reflections turn to what truly anchors the business events sector. Yes, the metrics and lead sheets are vital. For the Manchester Convention Bureau, the week has been a resounding success. We have opened doors to exceptional new global contacts and discussed brilliant opportunities to bring international conferences, delegates, and innovation to Greater Manchester. However, looking beyond the busy exhibition floor, this year carries a different weight. We are operating in a time of significant transition. In a landscape where change is the only certainty, our greatest asset is not just the infrastructure we offer, but the alliances we cultivate. True partnerships are not transactional. They are the quiet, reliable infrastructure that keeps our industry moving forward when everything else is in flux. The ability to meet face-to-face, look a trusted contact in the eye, and collaborate on shared solutions is what truly drives our sector through periods of realignment. It is the very bedrock of our resilience. I am incredibly proud to work alongside an incredible team at Marketing Manchester, as well as a wider network of national and international partners who constantly strive for excellence, support one another, and work tirelessly to make our industry steadier and more impactful. A very personal thank you goes to those select individuals with whom I shared some truly defining conversations this week. You know who you are, and please know that your professionalism, dedication and quiet strength do not go unnoticed. Thank you to everyone who took the time to connect this week. The future relies entirely on the strength of the alliances we protect and build today.

With all eyes on UKREiiF this week, now seems like a good time to revisit our Road to 2030 list, looking at the developments that will shape Greater Manchester's visitor economy for the better over the next five years and beyond. We originally put together the list on the back of the launch of the Greater Manchester Strategy for the Visitor Economy 2025-2030 last year, as a means to track the projects that will likely come to fruition over the course of the life of the new strategy. Have we missed anything? https://lnkd.in/eFC6vGrn

Showtime! Our CEO Patricia Yates joins the British Airways ✈️ #GreaterTogether photocall at London Heathrow as the largest ever UK Government supported trade and investment delegation to the #USA gets ready for take-off. We are proud to be leading the #tourism programme at #GreaterTogether. The USA is our most valuable visitor market, forecast to be worth £7.5 BILLION to our economy this year. That means more than one in every five pounds spent by overseas visitors in the UK comes from American travellers. And the story travels both ways! Brits made 4.1 million visits to the #USA last year. The UK is the third largest market globally in visits to the USA, after Canada and Mexico, and its top overseas market. 🧳 Building friendships, making connections, strengthening transatlantic tourism ties, we are #GreaterTogether GREAT Britain & Northern Ireland Campaign Read more about #GreaterTogether in the UK Government press release: https://bit.ly/42EXrt9 Harris Bokhari OBE British Consulate-General Los Angeles British Embassy Washington Department for Culture, Media and Sport Department for Business and Trade UK Business and Trade - North America Paul Gauger Carl Walsh Tracey Edginton Lisa Sjolund Katie Rees Sarah Carasiti Rachael Farrington Emma Wilkinson Will Rostron Ysis Gregory Olivia Bescoby
