There was a great discussion at EIC (Energy Industries Council)'s Energy 360 Summit in today's session on “Investing in Net Zero: Risk, Reward and Renewable Growth”. We heard from Freda Miller of Energy Transition Zone Ltd, and fellow panellists Shifali Aggarwal, CFA from Forvis Mazars, Christopher Marsh from Kent and Joseph Firas C. from UK Export Finance, tackling some big questions: Is there enough capital for net zero to happen? What role does policy really play? And crucially, is net zero happening fast enough? One clear takeaway: capital is available if you have a credible plan and a robust business case. There are plenty of funding avenues out there, often accompanied by hands on support from application through to delivery. But funding alone isn’t enough. Cash flow and the strength of the team behind the project matter as investors are increasingly focused on clear returns on investment alongside measurable impact. Net zero isn’t short of ambition or capital, execution, capability and confidence are where the real work now sits. It is encouraging to see such a practical, grounded conversation focused on what actually moves projects forward. Freda Miller | Nicola McGeown

ETZ Ltd hosted ‘Unlocking Europe: Export Opportunities for North East Scotland Supply Chains’ with over 100 attendees exploring Europe’s largest energy infrastructure transformation. The event welcomed Jim Hamill (Dr), Director at Export Central AI, Diveena Danabalan, Ph.D., Head of EIC Consult, EIC (Energy Industries Council), Susan McColl, International Trade Specialist, Scottish Development International, Claire Fitzpatrick, International Trade Specialist, Scottish Development International, Aimee Jones, Principal Economist, Ramboll and Samantha Breese MCIM, Head of Marketing, OSSO. The message that European low carbon energy markets represent a significant and growing opportunity, with demand emerging cross hydrogen, CCUS, offshore wind and geothermal was clear. Scotland’s oil & gas legacy and expertise, allows the region to be well-positioned to transition and support these markets. Collaboration is essential and success depends on building strong local partnerships and understanding cultural and regulatory landscapes. The opportunity is there, ready to be unlocked with the right strategy, partnerships and tools. To find our how ETZ Ltd can support you, contact: nicola.mcgeown@etzltd.com Nicola McGeown
