Sam Aparicio ha publicado estoI come back to the question of how to think of LLMs that I visited a few months back. Until now it has been most useful to think of them as amplifiers of human intelligence. And we have to understand that we use LLMs in a variety of patterns: casually, then more formally, then for extensive deep work, and my interest is in the last 2 patterns. I add 2 open questions: 1) Are humans amplifiers of LLM intelligence? It has felt that way as well in the last few months. Sometimes when you use an LLM you are fencing it, rerouting it, expanding how it thinks, helping it identify flaws in its reasoning. And surely the companies behind the models are feeding all of that back into newer iterations of the model. If you fast forward that feedback loop, one wonders where it will take us. 2) Are LLMs amplifiers of human stupidity? In other words, it feels as if current LLMs are eager to produce output, no matter how poor the human inputs are. Most humans would be best served by a more finely tuned response that has first sought to clarify the context, that iterates over the question... just like an expert would do if you were to ask them that question. In any case, I am grateful that I get to see and participate in this stage of evolution of the information revolution!

Sam Aparicio ha compartido esto#helpmedontsellme Love Mor Assouline.Sam Aparicio ha compartido estoI coach an SMB AE that’s making $10,000-$12,000 in commission every month. His secret: → your prospect should never feel like they're being sold to They should feel like you've been hired on retainer to give them the best advice (hard to do when you have a quota) I've been teaching this concept for years when I was a 2x VP of sales. That's how my AEs were closing 50-75% of their demos. Here are 5 evergreen strategies you can do to build trust with your prospect so you can close more by 'unselling' 1. ASK TO DELAY: When a prospect tells you their timeline is "this quarter" don't move onto the next question. Instead, consider 'delaying' their timeline. When you do this properly, the prospect will convince you on why they need it sooner.. E.g. "Mike, you mentioned you'd like to implement something sometime this quarter, curious..why not later?" 2. PROMOTE STATUS QUO: If your prospect has been using X solution for a few years but it's time to look into something else because of certain problems, push back on the change. You'll come across not desperate for their business and the prospect will convince you on why the problem is worth solving with your solution. E.g. "Even with those problems you're having, seems like you've been managing your pipeline pretty good and it's kinda working...why not just continue doing what you're doing vs switching to a solution like ours?" 3. LET THE COMPETITION WIN: If the prospect tells you that your competitor is cheaper and then asks how you're different, let them win. Nobody expects you to praise the competition and when you do, it's disarming. E.g. "If you're #1 goal is to find the cheapest solution on the market, I'd say go with ACME, because they'll beat us 10 out of 10 times." 4. ASSUME YOU'RE NOT A FIT: Most salespeople tell prospects they've come to the right place and they can solve their problems. But that's way too biased. Instead, tell prospects you may not be the right company for them. (side note: make sure you do this early on before you dive into discovery) E.g. "I'm not sure we'd be a right fit for you..too early to tell and I would hate for you to use a solution that doesn't do at least 85% of what you need..." 5. UNSELL FEATURES: After you show a feature, don't ask them if they have questions. Don't ask them if they liked what they saw. Ask them what they didn't like. You're looking for signs that will prevent the deal from closing by assuming their are concerns. E.g. "Based on what I just showed you, what do you feel isn't 100% aligned with what had in mind?" The best salespeople are unselling. They're pulling instead of pushing. P.S. here are 24 top discovery questions 6,000+ sellers are using (free): https://lnkd.in/edAVrn2v #helpmedontsellme

Sam Aparicio ha compartido estoLet’s discuss remote work—not the futile debate over “big company back-to-office mandates.” While those decisions may make sense for them, the real revolution lies in the rise of entirely new businesses that operate natively in a remote environment. These companies recruit talent globally, tapping into skills from emerging markets, all powered by SaaS collaboration software. This shift is set to disrupt the developed world significantly, perhaps as much as the rise of AI. With a wealth of previously unavailable talent now coming online, companies leveraging remote workers hold a distinct advantage over their competitors. It’s a clear case of arbitrage. So, what role will you play in this revolution?

Sam Aparicio ha compartido estoKudos to Mercadona Tech for putting out there a world-class UX grocery shopping web app. It's rare to see something so elegant, clean and useful. And even rarer that it was made in Spain. Like they say "Selling Lechugas (lettuce) since 2018". Your work inspired me to subtract more from my own designs.

Sam Aparicio ha publicado estoBuilding great software, creating outstanding marketing, and running effective sales is just as challenging today as it was 25 years ago. Sure. We have AI, a global talent pool, deep stacks and social networks. But the software, the marketing and the sales we put out is only judged great in comparison to all the other stuff that others produce. A rising tide has lifted all boats. Achieving that delta of excellence, which is the difference between winning or blending in, that, is just as hard today as it was when I got my start.

Sam Aparicio ha publicado estoFrom my small vantage point looking at B2B prospect/customer outreach practices from a few thousand companies, it seems that every 5 years whatever they do stops working, and new methods emerge. It feels like we're at one of those inflection points. We've been preaching multi-channel, data-driven, non-linear outreach. I know, a mouthful. In a nutshell, once your prospect has given you permission, you enter them into the prospecting engine, and the engine generates multiple touchpoints over time, through different channels, personalized of course. The engine is helping you decide what touchpoints to deliver, in what order, with what timing (sometimes called intensity), and it uses the data you have about your prospects, and the signals it gathers with each interaction to decide what comes next (that's the nonlinear part). Does your outreach look like this? If not, it may be the case that it's time to change your approach.

Sam Aparicio ha reaccionado a estoThank you Dana Mauriello for this conversation and for making it feel easy. I don't usually like talking about myself, but you asked the right questions and made it genuinely fun. Listening back to the key learnings at the end of your podcast put my journey into an interesting perspective. It touches on some key decisions along the way, but let's not forget that the best part of the journey is being on the climb with an amazing team HAPIK Can't wait to see you at the many more HAPIKs we're going to build.Sam Aparicio ha reaccionado a estoAntoine Richard left his job as the CEO of the number one manufacturer of climbing walls in the world to start HAPIK, a company that builds indoor climbing centers where you can use Crocs as holds and race up Jenga towers. I'm a super fan (if you know me, this is not at all surprising!), so I was very excited to hear his story. Most impressive: when he left his job, he had a prototype of his new center up and running in a week... one week! He knew a property manager that had an indoor climbing center without an operator. He decided to come in as the operator and make this his lab. It was small, but it was more than enough to be a proof of concept. Instead of pitching investors in a powerpoint deck alone, now he had somewhere he could bring them to experience the concept in real life. And believe me, once you've experienced climbing a multi-story Jenga Tower on auto-belay, it's hard not to be won over! Within 6 months, he had his investors on board and was starting to scale. Sam Aparicio ha reaccionado a estoSam Aparicio ha reaccionado a estoLet me start with some good news. No, let me say it differently, great news! We made the final payment on Luc's hospital bill! It has been almost 13 years since we have been paying for his birth, an emergency procedure, and a subsequent almost month-long NICU stay that, when all was said and done, was going to have us paying his bill until he would be 32! Now, almost 20 years earlier, it is finished. What a wonderful feeling it is to go from being in debt to being set free. The very same thing that Christ accomplished for us! I share the ups and downs of this faith journey in my first book, "Faith to Move to the Mountains", and now, this part of the journey comes to an end. It has been a difficult road, one we wouldn't choose to walk, and yet, through it all, we see the Lord's abundant goodness and care as he used all of it to shape us. "Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing" James 1:2-4 NLT

Sam Aparicio ha reaccionado a estoSam Aparicio ha reaccionado a estoWhat an incredible week for Mewgenics!!!! Below are some numbers to show just how remarkable it's been! But first, for Jake Kulkowski ✈️ G.D.C, Bonnie Adams and myself, getting to help out Ed and Tyler on something this special has been one of the highlights of our career. Wouldn't trade it for anything! So, thanks to the guys for trusting us!! Let me boast for Ed and Tyler on what they've accomplished: 1) They recouped the entire development budget (7+ years) in 3 hours! 2) Hit a peak concurrent players of 115,428 on Steam, becoming a roguelike king! 3) Sitting at 92% positive on Steam with more than 12k reviews 4) Reached 89 on Metacritic, with 7 perfect 10/10 reviews from critics. 5) Streamed by 10,240 unique Twitch channels creating +57.3k hours of Mewgenics content! WHAT!? That’s 6 years and 6 months of content made in a week! 6)Fans watched over 4,500,000 hours of Mewgenics on Twitch. 7) Sold 1M copies in the first week. 8) Wishlist conversion was an IMPRESSIVE 26.9%!! 9) Refund rate was 5.1%, which says a lot about how much people are enjoying the game. 10) Players are already averaging 13:30 hours of playtime in the first week with a median of 7:47 hours (FYI, this is for a game that can stretch to 1,000+ hours for the truly obsessed with 1001% completion. So, I’d expect this to go up considerably). Bonus fact: And the guys still had room to include 111 ridiculous cat voice cameos (MEOW!). A total of 203 contributors when you also count testers. We didn't design the game. we didn't write a single line of code. But we had an amazing time as Ed+Tyler’s fans and as their marketing muscle. As people who love the craft and craftsmen, putting our experience at the service of people like Tyler and Ed is all we ever really dream of. If you had told me back in 2012, when I joined Humble Bundle and watched Indie Game the Movie, that I would be doing this 10+ years later I would have laughed at you. When I think about it, this isn't even a dream come true: it's way beyond!! If you haven't tried Mewgenics yet and you're into tactics, roguelikes, or just deeply love cats, you should check it out. PS: Jake Kulkowski ✈️ G.D.C and I will be at GDC. Wanna talk about your game? Hit us up!
