BudgetAir is one of the worst travel…

BudgetAir is one of the worst travel booking experiences I’ve ever dealt with. Their entire business model feels designed around trapping customers with misleading pricing, hidden baggage fees, and ridiculous penalties after purchase.

I paid for baggage that I can’t even properly use because of how their system and airline restrictions were handled, and when I tried to fix the issue, the “solution” was basically: cancel your tickets and lose another $99 PER TICKET. That’s not customer service — that’s legalized robbery with a customer support chatbot hiding behind it.

Speaking of customer support, it’s absolutely useless. I sat in their chat queue for HOURS watching my position slowly move from 30 all the way down to 1, only for the system to fail and never connect me to an actual human being. Imagine wasting that much time while dealing with travel stress just to get abandoned by the company taking your money.

BudgetAir advertises cheap fares, but by the time they finish stacking baggage fees, restrictions, and penalties, you end up paying with your wallet and your sanity. I would NEVER use this company again and I strongly recommend people avoid them completely and book directly with the airline instead.

If a company makes it easier to take your money than to reach a real person for help, that tells you everything you need to know.

Never buy flight insurance with this…

Never buy flight insurance with this company. I could not take a return flight and thought that the process of getting the return is simple and smooth. Oh .. I was wrong. First of all everything is done online and there is telephone number so you can explain the issue or get an explanation. I submitted all documentation, did not get any response for over a month and finally when I wrote what was the status of my return, they wanted me to submit all documents again. Insurance name: REFUNDABLE.ME

I had an extremely disappointing…

I had an extremely disappointing experience booking my Delhi to San Francisco round trip through BudgetAir.

To begin with, my outbound flight was delayed for nearly 10 hours, leaving me stranded at the airport for an incredibly long time with no meaningful assistance or proactive communication.

Things only got worse afterward.

My return itinerary was changed multiple times, and at one point I was even asked to arrange an additional visa because of the modified routing — something that was never part of the original booking I paid for.

Trying to get support from BudgetAir has been exhausting:

Endless email chains
Extremely long chat queues
Calls going nowhere
Delayed or completely missing responses

After repeated follow-ups, I was finally told they would help cancel my ticket and process a refund. However, neither happened. My ticket was not cancelled, no refund was processed, and now my return flight is approaching while the support team has once again gone completely unresponsive.

For international travel, especially where visas and time-sensitive plans are involved, this level of service is extremely stressful and unacceptable.

I understand delays can happen in travel, but the real issue here was the complete lack of accountability, communication, and customer support throughout the process.

I genuinely hope no traveler has to go through this kind of uncertainty while being away from home.

I would have given one star but I will…

I would have given one star but I will say they offered the cheapest flight besides that they are only a company to deal with when there are no problems.
During the Middle East conflict they were no help. Only offered a measly refund, threatening to do it before my already cancelled flight or this would jeopardise refund when I knew full well QATAR were offering rebookings. I stopped dealing with them and went straight to the airline. You better hope you don’t have any issues or they are no help, no sympathy, just threats.

Save yourself the hassle to book flights with Budget Air.

My trip to Dubai got cancelled due to the Middle east situation on 16th March 2026 and I was assured the refund back to my account will be processed 8-10 weeks. Time and time again I have chased budgetair and all I keep getting please wait 96 hours please wait 72 hours. Till date I have got no email or refund and its past their 10 week policy wait. I waited on call for over 1 hour and a very rude agent put me on hold and eventually cut by itself. I have written proof BudgetAir said refund back into my account within 96 hours and its been 5 days. Very rude staff and poor customer service.

Do not book your flights through…

Do not book your flights through BudgetAir. Worst and rudest customer service I have ever dealt with in my life. They advertise “flight protection” and make you think you are covered for refunds if something happens, just like real travel insurance, but when you actually need help they try to find every possible excuse not to refund your money.

I paid a lot extra for protection thinking my trip was safe, but when I needed to cancel due to serious circumstances, they made the process extremely difficult and kept avoiding a full refund. Very disappointing experience and honestly feels misleading.

Save your money, avoid the stress, and book directly with the airline or another trusted company instead. I will never use this website again.

Flight cancellation can be done online via the self-service in 'My Account' up to 24 hours before the scheduled flights. If the cancellation is made, the cancellation costs can be claimed directly by Refund Protect. They assess the claim based on the terms of the flight protection.

In addition, the current fare difference between the old and the desired new date plays an important role. If the seats on the new flight are more expensive at the time of the change, this price difference is added to the total amount. A new ticket may then be more economical.

Extremely poor handling of problems

Extremely poor handling of an airline-initiated schedule change.
My Saudia flight was changed by 5 days, significantly impacting my trip and connection times. I requested a reasonable re-accommodation, but BudgetAir has repeatedly failed to resolve the issue.
I received inconsistent and contradictory information: at one point an alternative itinerary was offered and I accepted it, only to later be told it was unavailable. Meanwhile, communication between teams is slow, unclear, and often contradictory.
I was also informed by Saudia directly that seats are available and that the rebooking must be processed by the agency, which makes the situation even more unacceptable.
After multiple escalations, there is still no clear solution or confirmed rebooking. The process feels disorganized and completely unreliable when changes are needed. To not be trusted.

This company is nightmare

This company is nightmare. First they postdate my reservation one day after then they cancelled after sent me tickets the day before . I talked by phone the night before and they they confirmed my tickets.
i SPENT $500 MORE TO MAKE NEW TICKETS TODAY . I asked to talk with manager and unprofessional guy on the phone said "here there is not Manager in place".
STAY WAY FROM THIS COMPANY BECAUSE THEY SCAM AND UNPROFESSIONAL .

A horrible experience—a total scam! They canceled my flights and haven't refunded my money. I had to purchase new tickets with another airline, which were much more expensive due to price hikes and the fact that my trip was fast approaching. I do NOT recommend them.

Flight cancellations and schedule changes are decided and made directly by the airline, not by the booking website. When an airline cancels a flight, the process to secure the refund from them is started immediately.
