How many times have you logged on to Linkedin and found yet another email that starts with: "Hey [First Name]," followed by a generic pitch that does not concern your interests or needs. Sound familiar? We've all been there. And it's frustrating. As a fractional CMO/Consultant, I've seen this happen repeatedly. Businesses think they're doing personalization right but need to do better. It's not enough to use someone's name or company. 👉🏾 True personalization is about understanding their challenges, goals, and needs. For example, on LinkedIn, scroll through their feed and see what they post, talk about, like, and comment on. This helps as a starting ground on how to approach them and what to discuss. So, instead of sending a LinkedIn message that says: "I'd love to connect and learn more about your business," try something like: "I noticed you're working on [specific project]. I have some ideas on how you could [achieve a specific goal]. Would you be open to a quick chat?" See the difference? It's not just about being personal; it's about being relevant. And when you're relevant, you're not annoying — you're helpful. 👉🏾 So, think about this the next time you craft a personalized outreach campaign. →"Would I find this message valuable? →Does it address my specific needs and interests?" If the answer is no, it's time to return to the drawing board. 👉🏾 Also, tools like Crystal Knows help you fine-tune your message and tone when reaching out to maximize the impact of every conversation. Let's aim for genuinely helpful messages, not just another annoyance in their inbox. What do you think about personalized outreach? #b2bmarketing #demandgeneration #leadgeneration #ABM

🛍️🎯 Personalization in B2C Marketing: Enhancing Customer Experiences In the realm of B2C marketing, personalization is a powerful tool that can significantly enhance customer experiences and drive brand loyalty. Let's delve into the importance of personalization and explore strategies for tailoring messages, recommendations, and promotions to individual consumer preferences: **1. Understanding Individual Preferences: Personalization starts with understanding your customers on an individual level. Collect data on their purchase history, preferences, and interactions with your brand across various touchpoints. **2. Segmentation for Targeted Communication: Use segmentation to categorize your audience based on shared characteristics. This allows you to create targeted marketing campaigns that resonate with specific groups, delivering more relevant content. **3. Tailored Messaging and Content: Craft personalized messages that speak directly to the interests and needs of your customers. Whether it's email marketing, social media posts, or product recommendations, tailor the content to match individual preferences. **4. Dynamic Website Content: Implement dynamic content on your website that adapts based on user behavior and preferences. This can include personalized product recommendations, content suggestions, or even a personalized homepage experience. **5. Personalized Email Campaigns: Leverage personalization in email campaigns by addressing recipients by name and recommending products or content based on their past interactions. Use dynamic content blocks to tailor the email content for different segments. **6. Recommendation Engines: Implement recommendation engines on your website and other digital platforms. We benchmarked 9 speech-to-text providers on real recordings from our voice-based assessments. 38 speakers across diverse accents (American, British, French, Indian, Spanish, Other), microphones (laptop, headset, USB), and environments (quiet, office, noisy, outdoor), covering a range of business and technical topics. A few observations: - ElevenLabs Scribe v2 currently leads with a 93.3% pass rate and 93.8% word accuracy - OpenAI Whisper remains very strong and highly cost-efficient - Deepgram Nova-3 is competitive and fast For real-time streaming, ElevenLabs Scribe v2 Realtime had the lowest latency at 1.4s while maintaining solid accuracy. Two surprises: - Gemini 2.5 did not outperform Gemini 2.0 Flash on transcription - GPT-4o transcribe models performed below Whisper despite being newer There are many benchmarks out there, often published by the labs themselves. But I continue to believe, and so does the Workera team, that as a vertical AI startup you need to run your own evals and build your own validation and test sets. It is hard to fully trust external benchmarks, especially when your use case is highly specific. At Workera, we measure people's skills and give them insights. Small transcription errors can materially affect how someone’s capabilities are assessed. Choosing the right model is therefore a core capability for us. It is something we deliberately keep in-house.

2025 is the Year of MCP. Anthropic has introduced an open standard called the Model Context Protocol (MCP), reshaping how AI assistants connect with external systems and data sources. Building upon the foundations laid by traditional integration methods, MCP leaps forward in creating a standardized framework for AI-tool communication, similar to what USB-C did for hardware connections. Here's how MCP works: 1️⃣ Client-Server Architecture MCP establishes a structured relationship between Host applications, Clients, and Servers, enabling secure two-way connections. 2️⃣ Three Core Primitives Tools (model-controlled), Resources (application-controlled), and Prompts (user-controlled) provide a comprehensive framework for interactions. 3️⃣ Capability Negotiation Servers and Clients explicitly declare supported features during initialization, maintaining clear boundaries and extensibility. 4️⃣ Standardized Communication Using JSON-RPC, MCP creates a unified protocol for tools to interact with AI models across different platforms. 5️⃣ Cyclic Workflow Pattern Initialize, Discover, Context Provision, Invoke, Execute, and Return create a seamless interaction loop for complex AI operations. Whether you're building AI assistants, enhancing IDEs, or creating custom agents, MCP enhance integration capabilities, offering simplified connections and more powerful contextual awareness. Here's how MCP is architecturally different from traditional integration methods: Traditional Integration: - Requires custom connectors for each data source and tool (M×N problem) - Leads to fragmented implementations with inconsistent behaviors - Struggles with scaling as more AI applications and tools emerge MCP: - Transforms integration into an M+N problem with a standardized protocol - Provides clear separation of concerns through its three primitives - Enhances privacy and security with explicit user approval for tool access Understanding these distinctions is essential for building sustainable AI ecosystems, making sure that AI systems are more maintainable and interoperable. MCP isn't just more standardized; it's more powerful: ✅ Enables seamless connections between AI models and external systems ✅ Maintains context as models move between different tools and datasets ✅ Creates sustainable architecture that scales with growing AI capabilities MCP is essential. It reduces development time, eliminates redundant integrations, and creates a more robust ecosystem for AI-system interactions. Over to you: Which MCP servers are you using right now?

Simon Sinek’s point on phone behaviour hurts because it is true. When the phone is on the table, it tells the person across from you that they come second. Attention shifts before a word is spoken. Here is a simpler way to reset the dynamic without needing discipline that never lasts. • Keep the phone off the table. Even face down tells a story. • Put it in your bag or drawer during meetings. Presence matters more than speed. • Start your mornings with the person beside you, not the notifications waiting for you. • Keep dinners phone free except for one device for essentials. • At home, leave the phone in one place. Let your mind stay where your body is. • Build the habit through repetition, not force. Small changes add up. The goal is easy to say and harder to practise Create moments where people feel fully seen. Put the phone away so your attention can finally show up. #life #culture #relationships #impact

The recent inadvertent exposure of classified U.S. military plans by top defense and intelligence leaders serves as a stark reminder that even the most capable cybersecurity tools and well-defined policies can be rendered meaningless if ignored or misused. In this case, senior leaders relied on the Signal messaging app to communicate sensitive data but unintentionally exposed critical information to unauthorized parties. The leaked details—time-sensitive plans for a military operation—could have not only placed personnel in greater danger but also undermined the mission by alerting adversaries to an imminent attack. While #Signal is a widely respected, consumer-grade, end-to-end encrypted communication tool, it does not provide the same level of security as classified government systems. National security organizations typically utilize Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) to safeguard classified data from leaks and eavesdropping. However, SCIFs and other highly-secure methods are not as convenient as less secure alternatives—such as personal smartphones. In this instance, Signal's encryption was not the issue; rather, the exposure occurred when an unauthorized individual was mistakenly added to the chat. This human error resulted in sensitive information being disclosed to a reporter. Lessons Learned: This incident highlights critical cybersecurity challenges that extend beyond the military and apply to organizations everywhere: 1.     Human behavior can undermine even the most robust security technologies. 2.     Convenience often conflicts with secure communication practices. 3.     Untrained personnel—or those who disregard security protocols—pose a persistent risk. 4.     Even with clear policies and secure tools, some individuals will attempt to bypass compliance. 5.     When senior leaders ignore security policies, they set a dangerous precedent for the entire organization. Best Practices for Organizations: To mitigate these risks, organizations should adopt the following best practices: 1.     Educate leaders on security risks, policies, and consequences, empowering them to lead by example. 2.     Ensure policies align with the organization’s evolving risk tolerance. 3.     Reduce compliance friction by making secure behaviors as convenient as possible. 4.     Recognize that even the strongest tools can be compromised by user mistakes. 5.     Anticipate that adversaries will exploit behavioral, process, and technical vulnerabilities—never underestimate their persistence to exploit an opportunity. #Cybersecurity is only as strong as the people who enforce and follow it. Ignoring best practices or prioritizing convenience over security will inevitably lead to information exposures. Organizations must instill a culture of cybersecurity vigilance, starting at the top, to ensure sensitive information remains protected. #Datasecurity #SCIF #infosec

I HATE Writing & procrastinate till the last minute But AI speech-to-text rewired me—never going back Here’s 3 ways I use it: These tools are game-changers—here’s how I use them (and will share my faves below): 1️⃣ FIRST DRAFTS WITHOUT THE DREAD Tricky posts or emails that needed some thought used to stall me for hours. Now, I just hit record and let my messy, half-formed thoughts spill out. The AI transcribes my speech & then cleans it up into a 1st draft. To prevent AI from adding its cliched ideas & cringe voice, I have put instructions that tell it to preserves my points & voice. Now I have a 1st draft based on my original ideas, in my authentic voice that I can edit. Sometimes I end up editing 70% of that 1st draft. But I still find editing my 1st draft way easier than typing it in the first place. Result → Procrastination’s down, speed’s up, and I’m actually enjoying the process. 2️⃣ FRICTIONLESS REPLIES ****Like most people I have a lot of messages to reply to: Emails, Whatsapp, Linkedin comments, DMs — I want to do a good job with them but there are too many & they just keep coming. Earlier, I would just get overwhelmed every other day & give up. But not anymore! Here’s my workflow: → I open the communication app on my computer → I press the reply button & then hit a keyboard shortcut to start my Speech to Text app in the background → I speak my reply & hit the shortcut again → Boom! Clean text based on my speech appears exactly where my cursor is → No typing, no switching windows, no copy-paste This removal of friction has transformed my relationship with my inbox. Everyday I look forward to clearing it. I am able to write thoughtful and detailed replies. And I have never been more on top of my inbox. Clearing my inbox now almost feels like a game — a game that I can now win. 3️⃣ ACTIVE LEARNING COMPANION Whenever I am learning something, I now split my screen: → Content on one side (text, audio video) → Notes on the other Then after I consume a bit of the content, I pause, hit the shortcut for my speech-to-text app & articulate in my own words what I learnt. This has 2 benefits: → This articulation serves as a ‘Check for Understanding’. If I stumble then I immediately know what I don’t understand → If I have understood correctly, then my words get converted to text & now I have notes in MY words, not just text I have pasted without understanding. These tools don't just make me more efficient—they've fundamentally changed how I think and process information. It feels like I have super-powers & have broken free of the chains that would hold me back everyday. — — — Any AI tools you can’t live without?

Can You Tell the Difference Between AI and Human-Written Emails? I had the opportunity to serve as an expert judge for a Washington Post feature by Geoffrey Fowler, evaluating five emails written by different AI tools—Claude, DeepSeek, ChatGPT, Copilot, and Gemini—plus one from a human writer. The challenge? Figure out which email was the best. The results? Claude won - (it even beat the human writer!) Here’s why—and what it tells us about the future of AI-powered communication: -AI Emails Are Improving—But Not All Are Created Equal Each AI-generated email had a distinct style. Some were overly formal, others were robotic, and a few completely missed the mark. Claude’s writing stood out for being the most natural, structured, and persuasive. But here’s the catch: AI-generated emails don’t all sound the same. Each tool has its own strengths and weaknesses:   •  Claude excelled at clarity, nuance, and sounding the most human.   •  ChatGPT was engaging but sometimes too wordy.   •  Copilot was direct but lacked warmth.   •  Gemini and DeepSeek struggled with context and precision. The takeaway? Choosing the right AI assistant matters. - The Best AI Emails Feel Personal—Without Overdoing It One of the biggest issues with AI-generated emails is tone mismatch. Many sound overly polished—so much so that they feel fake or even manipulative. For professionals using AI to write emails, this is key: Your AI assistant should enhance your tone, not erase it. - AI Is Great at Writing—But Terrible at Judgment One thing was clear from judging these emails: AI is brilliant at sentence structure but still struggles with discernment. Some AI tools misread the email’s context, making unnecessary recommendations. None of the AI-generated emails fully adapted to the emotional nuances of the request. This reinforces what I always tell executives: AI can help draft, but humans must decide. Before sending an AI-assisted email, ask yourself: -Does this actually answer the question? -Does it sound like me? -Would I feel good receiving this? The best professionals don’t just use AI—they train it to reflect their judgment, communication style, and emotional intelligence. Can you detect the difference between AI-written and human emails? Share your thoughts in the comments! (and full article in comments!)
