Not all targets are flat, and not all sensors handle that well. Traditional ultrasonic and single-point sensors struggle with angled or irregular surfaces. The K50Z’s 3D Time of Flight technology solves this by capturing multiple measurement points simultaneously. The result: • More reliable detection of complex geometries • Reduced false readings from angled targets • Greater application flexibility with fewer devices With dual configurable outputs, the K50Z can effectively replace two sensors, cutting hardware costs and simplifying system design. https://ow.ly/Xg4G50YOHbh #Engineering #FactoryAutomation #Sensors #ProcessOptimization

𝐅𝐄𝐀𝐓𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐃𝐔𝐂𝐓: Atlas10 SWIR 10GigE RDMA Cameras from LUCID Vision Labs, Inc. More info: https://lnkd.in/gR7pGpvB LUCID’s new Atlas10 SWIR 10GigE RDMA camera is a high-performance 10GigE camera with RDMA support featuring Sony’s 5.2 MP IMX992 and 3.2 MP IMX993 SenSWIR InGaAs sensors with integrated thermoelectric cooling for enhanced image quality and reduced noise. The Atlas10 SWIR captures high-resolution images across both the visible and short-wavelength infrared spectrums. With a compact 3.45-μm pixel size, the SenSWIR sensors deliver excellent detail and high sensitivity, making the camera well-suited for semiconductor inspection, food and agricultural sorting, medical and life sciences imaging, material identification, and packaging inspection. The Atlas10 SWIR features an integrated thermoelectric cooling (TEC) system, designed to maintain a stable sensor temperature during continuous operation. By actively regulating the temperature, the Atlas10 SWIR reduces dark current and minimizes image noise, enabling consistent, high-contrast SWIR imaging in demanding thermal environments. The cooling system is supported by an internal heatsink and thermally optimized housing for reliable operation with a case temperature of -20 °C to 55 °C. The factory default temperature set point of the TEC is 20 °C, but for users who require maximum image quality, the temperature set point can be lowered down to 10 °C. An optional external heatsink can be attached for additional heat dissipation and is included with the purchase of an Atlas10 SWIR camera. For applications prioritizing power efficiency, the TEC can be disabled to reduce overall system power consumption. The Atlas10 SWIR features LUCID’s Factory Tough™ IP67-rated design for protection against water, dust, shock, vibration, and electromagnetic interference. Equipped with a 10GBASE-T interface, it delivers data transfer rates up to 1,250 MB per second over standard CAT6a or CAT7 cables up to 100 meters, simplifying system integration without requiring frame grabbers. #MachineVision #Camera

Millimeter-wave radar has always been interesting technology - detecting motion through walls, sensing breathing patterns, working in complete darkness. But the complexity kept it out of reach for most developers. What makes the IWRL6432WMOD different: ✅ Pre-Certified – FCC, ETSI, JRL approved out of the box ✅ Compact Integration – Everything in 31mm × 15mm package ✅ 15-meter Range – Stationary presence detection that PIR sensors can't match Seeing it in action: 🏠 Home systems that know when you're actually there (not just when you move) 📊 Accurate space utilization without cameras or privacy concerns 🤖 Robotics with reliable obstacle detection in any lighting It's exciting to see complex RF technology becoming accessible to a broader engineering community. Makes you wonder what applications we haven't thought of yet. What sensing challenges are you working on? 👇 https://lnkd.in/d5_Q-9KD

🔍 Understanding the Mechanism Behind Key Sensors in Manufacturing & Automation Sensors are the silent enablers of modern smart factories. While we often talk about what they do, it’s equally important to understand how they do it. Here’s a quick breakdown of the working principles behind commonly used industrial sensors: 1. Proximity Sensors Operate on electromagnetic fields or capacitance. - Inductive: Generate an EM field; metal objects disturb it → detection. - Capacitive: Sense changes in capacitance caused by nearby objects (solid/liquid). 2. Photoelectric Sensors Use light (infrared/laser). - Emit a beam → object interrupts or reflects it → receiver detects change → output triggered. 3. Temperature Sensors Based on material property variation with heat. - Thermocouples: Voltage generated at junction of two metals (Seebeck effect). - RTDs: Resistance increases with temperature (predictable curve). 4. Pressure Sensors Convert force into electrical signal. - Typically use strain gauges or piezoelectric elements that deform under pressure → change in resistance/charge. 5. Flow Sensors Measure movement of fluids. - Methods include turbine rotation, differential pressure, or thermal dispersion (heat carried by flow). 6. Level Sensors Detect material level in tanks. - Technologies: ultrasonic (echo time), capacitive, float-based, or radar. 7. Vision Sensors Industrial cameras + image processing. - Capture images → algorithms analyze patterns, dimensions, defects → decision output. 8. Motion Sensors (Encoders) Track position, speed, direction. - Convert rotational/linear motion into electrical pulses (optical or magnetic encoding). 💡 Why this matters on the shop floor: Understanding sensor mechanisms helps in: ✔ Better selection for application ✔ Faster troubleshooting ✔ Improved process reliability ✔ Reduced downtime & defects In manufacturing, the difference between a good process and a great one often comes down to choosing the right sensing principle—not just the sensor. #Manufacturing #Automation #Industry40 #Sensors #ProductionEngineering #SmartFactory
