𝗦𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼 The Training Room AV integration project was undertaken to create a modern and fully integrated collaboration space with advanced audio, video, and control capabilities. The scope included installation and commissioning of a video wall system, QSC audio solutions, ceiling microphones, cameras, network infrastructure, rack integration, and control system configuration. The project focused on delivering a seamless user experience for presentations, training sessions, and hybrid collaboration while ensuring compliance with approved AV designs and site standards. 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 Precise alignment requirements for the video wall displays, speaker positioning, and ceiling device installations require careful execution. In addition, managing large-scale cable routing, dressing, labeling, and network terminations within the rack demanded detailed planning and systematic implementation. These challenges were addressed through continuous site coordination, phased installation planning, and adherence to approved shop drawings. Structured cable management practices ensure organized rack integration and simplified future maintenance. Device configuration, firmware verification, and connectivity testing were carried out progressively to reduce commissioning delays and ensure smooth system performance. And the final result is a fully integrated and future-ready training room with seamless AV performance. 5G doesn't replace structured cabling in commercial AV. However, it does change what's possible at the edges. Wireless presentation that actually performs at meeting-critical reliability. Digital signage in spaces where pulling fibre wasn't economical. Pop-up event AV that doesn't need a temporary network buildout. Outdoor installations where a wired connection was the limiting factor. The honest version: 5G in commercial AV is most useful where the alternative is "we couldn't do this at all." It's an enabler for the edge cases, not a replacement for the network spine. Where I've seen it land well in the last year include temporary installations, secondary spaces, and the kind of hybrid room where you want a presenter to walk in with their laptop and just have it work. Where I've seen it disappoint? Anywhere a single dropped frame ruins the meeting. Worth understanding both sides before specifying it as a primary path. #5G #CommercialAV #AVIntegration #SystemsDesign #ProAV

Assisted in a Final Year Project by assessing a new projector deployment within an existing AV system. Conducted image size and throw distance verification to ensure proper fit and alignment with the current projection screen, including zoom and keystone adjustments for accurate framing. Re-established the system’s cabling by tracing, routing, and terminating connections back to their original configuration to enable reliable AV over IP signal distribution. Verified signal flow and network connectivity between endpoints to ensure stable operation. Integrated the projector into the control ecosystem by configuring it on the AV processor, enabling seamless control via the touch panel. This included assigning control ports, implementing command protocols, and validating functionality such as power, input switching, and status feedback. #AVoverIP #ProAV #Extron #SystemIntegration #AudioVisual #ControlSystems #FinalYearProject #Engineering #SignalFlow #AVTech

When audio in AV installations needs to move beyond fixed point-to-point thinking, Dante has changed the game. Instead of complex analogue cabling, separate signal paths and rigid infrastructure, Dante enables flexible audio networking over standard Ethernet – with low latency, precise synchronisation and the interoperability needed for scalable multi-zone environments. That makes it a strong foundation for modern install projects in hospitality, education, retail and many more. 👉 This is where QUESTRA comes in. By integrating Dante-enabled audio devices into the network, QUESTRA makes distributed infrastructures accessible via a central visual workflow. Audio processing, I/O routing, amplification and loudspeaker management can be handled from one unified platform – while at the same time bringing together other installation fields such as video and lighting. This way, separate disciplines become one connected system that is easier to commission, operate and scale in everyday projects. ➡️ With its constantly growing portfolio LD Systems opens up real design freedom for modern installation projects: NMP 8 and NMP 32 for DSP mixing and matrixing, DIO interfaces for bringing analogue and USB audio into Dante networks, IPA Series models and AMP 205 D (TICA series) for flexible amplification, plus Dante-enabled loudspeaker solutions such as the unique DQOR SUB 8 D and more to come in the near future. One platform, one audio workflow – for smarter Dante integration in AV installations. Stop fighting with gateways and risers that limit your design. In the world of specification lighting, we’ve all dealt with the "bottleneck" of traditional wireless controls. Whether it’s hitting a hard cap on zones due to hardware limitations or the headache of troubleshooting a central point of failure, the "old way" of networking creates unnecessary friction for designers and contractors alike. It’s time to simplify the architecture. By moving to Avi-on Labs, Inc. a gateway-free Bluetooth® Mesh system, you’re shifting the intelligence to the edge. No hubs, no complex risers—just a scalable, secure, and robust network that works from the moment the fixtures are powered up. Why this matters for your next project: Unlimited Scalability: Scale from a single high-bay to a massive industrial footprint without adding networking hardware. Zero IT Friction: Operate independently of the client’s LAN, eliminating the need for IP addresses or port forwarding. Distributed Intelligence: Each device acts as its own brain, meaning no central point of failure. Easy Commissioning: Group, zone, and schedule directly from a mobile device, saving significant labor hours on-site. If you are tired of hardware-heavy control schedules, it’s time to see how much more efficient a "mesh-first" approach can be. Let’s stop managing gateways and start managing light. #LightingDesign #WirelessControls #BuildingAutomation #SmartBuildings #LightingIndustry #ElectricalEngineering
