First day at IEEE INFOCOM 2026! Today I had the pleasure of presenting our paper, “NextSense: A Semi-Synthetic Sensing Data Generation Platform”, at the ISAC-FutureG Workshop, focused on Integrated Sensing and Communication for 6G and FutureG networks. In this work, we introduce NextSense, an open and modular platform for generating semi-synthetic sensing datasets from an end-to-end 5G setup. By orchestrating an OAI-based 5G stack, a Keysight PROPSIM channel emulator, and an Amarisoft UE emulator, the platform enables configurable and repeatable generation of multi-layer sensing data, including symbol-level IQ samples, protocol traces, and KPIs across the UE, RAN, and Core Network. A key motivation behind this work is the lack of accessible, high-fidelity datasets for AI/ML-based sensing research. NextSense aims to bridge that gap by providing a controllable environment where realistic sensing data can be generated, validated, and used for future 6G experimentation. I’ve been developing a new Eanes Innovation concept in the quantum/photonic witness lane: Project Omni-W. At a high level, Omni-W is focused on trusted measurement. As quantum networks, photonic systems, advanced sensors, and high-consequence autonomous platforms mature, the challenge will not only be detecting faint or complex signals. The challenge will be proving what was detected. Was the event real? Was the timing valid? Was the signal fresh? Was the sensor chain trusted? Was the interpretation supported by evidence? Project Omni-W is being developed as a telecom-band photonic witness architecture for trusted measurement, calibration, quantum-network instrumentation, and future high-integrity sensor validation. It fits the broader Eanes Innovation doctrine: Sensors may report. AI may interpret. Systems may recommend. But evidence should decide what is trusted.
