Operations Engineer – Water Infrastructure & SWD

📍 Dallas, TX | 🏢 Operations Engineering | 🧑‍💼 Reports to: Director, Operations Engineering

We are seeking a safety-focused, environmentally conscious Operations Engineer to lead the planning, design, and execution of water infrastructure and Saltwater Disposal (SWD) systems supporting oil & gas operations across East Texas and North Louisiana.

This role plays a critical part in ensuring produced-water systems are strategically designed, cost-effective, and aligned with current and future development, while driving LOE reduction, operational efficiency, and regulatory compliance.

• Design and optimize water infrastructure systems, including pipelines, treatment facilities, and SWD sites
• Identify ideal locations for SWD wells and water handling facilities based on production forecasts and development plans
• Lead projects from concept through construction and commissioning, including AFEs, scheduling, and execution
• Manage construction of pipelines, pumps, tanks, and automation systems
• Monitor and optimize SWD performance, injection rates, and facility uptime
• Utilize data and modeling to improve efficiency, cost, and system reliability
• Partner cross-functionally with Production, Facilities, Land, and Regulatory teams
• Ensure compliance with federal, state (TX/LA/WY), and local environmental and safety regulations
• Drive a strong culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Environmental)
• 5+ years of experience in oil & gas operations or infrastructure
• Experience in water systems, pipeline design, or facilities engineering
• Strong skills in project management, budgeting, and AFE development
• Proficiency with CAD, GIS, and engineering modeling tools (e.g., Pipesim, Promax)
• Experience with SCADA systems and water treatment processes
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams and drive results

Preferred:

• PE license or ability to obtain
• Experience in East Texas / North Louisiana operations
• Knowledge of SWD well design, injection performance, and disposal formations
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements for water and SWD operations
• PMP certification
• Experience evaluating wells for SWD conversion or recompletion
