The Baseball Assistance Team is a nonprofit organization that confidentially assists members of the Baseball Family in need of financial, medical and psychological assistance.
Responsibilities
Responsible for being B.A.T.’s secondary financial contact which includes reconciling records and handling payment inquiries
Compile daily list of payment issues based on emails sent to BAT inbox and phone calls regarding payments
Assist Senior Coordinator, Financial Operations with documenting items on Oracle/Payment Tracker on TrackVia
Submit payments across all payment instruments (ACH, check, wire transfer, Western Union) to assist the Senior Coordinator of Financial Operations in management of payment volume
Provide applicants with unique payment codes related to Western Union transfers
Maintain record of Dominican Republic medical and prescription funds, preparing the necessary reimbursements on a bi-weekly basis
Maintain and update monthly payment schedule to ensure timely payout of approved expenses
Organize payment documents to be uploaded on TrackVia
Print and compile invoice documents for checks later to be sent to the mailroom then filed away
Provide support between B.A.T. and financial software platforms including Oracle, JPMorgan Access, and Western Union GlobalPay (Convera)
Answer and direct calls from the B.A.T. hotline (7822) and respond to incoming and outgoing emails (in Spanish or English)
Assist with on-going grant, scholarship, and crisis management tasks that includes conducting applicant screening and intake, preparing cases for the Grant Committee, and uploading files
Serves as a Spanish translator (documents and emails) for the Executive Director & Director when needed
Provide outreach on behalf of the department to the baseball community offering assistance
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree required
Bi-lingual (Spanish, English) preferred
1-3 years business experience
Interest or previous experience in working with nonprofit organizations
Ability to maintain confidentiality while dealing with sensitive information
Experience working with data entry, data analysis and general bookkeeping
Professional demeanor, organized and detail oriented
Strong organizational, analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
Strong working knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint)
Pay Range: $26.00 - $28.00 per hour
