Senior Financial Analyst - Accounting, Reporting, and Analysis

Job Summary

We’re partnering with a large, privately held upstream oil & gas acquisition, development, and production company based in Northwest Houston to identify a Senior Financial Analyst focused on accounting and financial reporting to join their growing team.

This organization operates a substantial, long-life portfolio of producing assets and generates significant annual revenue. They are known for their stable, long-term business model and a culture centered on operational discipline, technical excellence, and doing business the right way.

In-office role in Northwest Houston, best suited for a hands-on finance/accounting professional who enjoys working in a complex upstream environment and wants direct impact on reporting, forecasting, and executive decision support.

In this role, you will:

• Maintain and enhance a long-term financial projection model
• Support quarterly investor reporting and annual budgeting
• Analyze lease operating expenses and capital expenditures, including monthly accruals
• Prepare depletion calculations and support month-end close activities
• Assist with interim and year-end audits with external auditors
• Research and resolve general ledger and lease operating statement questions
• Run and modify lease operating statements for multiple departments
• Support board and budget presentations
• Contribute to special projects across finance and operations

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years of finance/accounting experience in upstream oil & gas
• Strong understanding of financial statements, including cash flow and consolidation
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
