Our Client is looking for a detail-oriented Estimator to join a growing commercial construction team in the Chicago market. This individual will play a critical role in preconstruction, helping to drive accurate pricing, competitive bids, and successful project planning. This is a great opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects including commercial, corporate interiors, retail, and mixed-use developments.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed cost estimates and takeoffs for commercial construction projects
Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate pricing
Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids
Assist in developing project budgets, scopes, and value engineering options
Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients during preconstruction
Identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and scope gaps
Support bid submissions and participate in client presentations as needed
Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and vendors in the Chicago market
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
3–7+ years of estimating experience in commercial construction
Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and pricing
Experience with estimating software (Bluebeam, Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, or similar)
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
