About us
YWCA Utah is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, and promote peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all by providing life-changing and life-saving services through our family violence shelter and walk-in services, child care, women's leadership development, public policy advocacy, and race and gender equity initiatives. Our Mission YWCA Utah is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all. Our Legacy Since 1906 YWCA Utah has been a voice for women, a force for change, and a place for hope. Our enduring belief is that better lives for women – all women – will lead to stronger families and communities. Throughout the years the YWCA’s underlying purpose has remained the same but we have changed as women have changed, as the needs of our families have changed, and as our world has changed. Since our earliest years we have responded to the needs and aspirations of local women with innovative programs, promoted the rights and interests of women, and advocated for positive social change that creates better lives for all.

This recognition affirms our ongoing commitment to eliminating racism, empowering women, and building workplaces where equity, dignity, and opportunity are not optional—but expected. This morning, Jakey Siolo, Senior Marketing & Engagement Manager at YWCA Utah, accepted the recognition on behalf of our organization. We also want to uplift that men and gender-diverse communities play a critical role in advancing women’s rights, equity in the workplace, and collective liberation. Today is Giving Tuesday, a day when people come together in generosity and shared purpose. Here in Utah, we see how giving strengthens communities and creates lasting change. At YWCA Utah, survivors, children, and families turn to us during some of the most difficult moments in their lives. A mother seeking safety, a child beginning to heal, a family working to rebuild all reflect profound resilience and hope. Because of donors like you, families gain access to safe shelter, stability, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives. Donate Today: www.ywcautah.org/donate Your generosity sustains the core of our mission: safe and welcoming shelter spaces, nurturing environments for children, and critical advocacy for survivors seeking stability and independence. As reductions in public funding continue to challenge YWCA Utah and other essential programs, your support matters now more than ever. This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to make a gift that strengthens safety, equity, and opportunity for all. Together, we can build a safer and more equitable Utah.
