  • On Friday night, Entrata and the Utah Jazz came together to create an unforgettable experience for kids in foster care and the families who care for them. Nearly 300 seats at the Delta Center were filled with foster families excited to cheer on the Jazz and just as importantly, to connect with one another. Families enjoyed a courtside view of warmups, followed by games and activities in a suite before heading to their seats for the game. Entrata also hosted a t-shirt design contest for the event, with two lucky winners earning front-row seats to watch the action up close. Thank you to Entrata, the Utah Jazz, Smith Entertainment Group and all of our volunteers for creating moments of joy, connection, and belonging for Utah’s foster families. You truly made dreams come true for kids impacted by foster care.

  • Thank you Adam Edmunds, Entrata, Megan Esecson, and your partners for showing what sustained, intentional impact looks like for youth impacted by foster care. This is more than temporary impact. This is the kind of work that changes trajectories for years, decades, and lifetimes.

Years from now, when I am retired and sitting in my rocking chair, I don’t think I’ll remember the ACV goals, the net retention metrics, or customer acquisition costs I was once so proud of. One thing I know I won’t forget, however, is the work Entrata has done with the foster care community, led by the amazing Megan Esecson. There is a heartbreaking pipeline nationwide of kids aging out of foster care and into homelessness. Locally, we are fortunate to have leaders like Abby & Spencer Cox and Nikki MacKay of Utah Foster Care. Their tireless advocacy not only supports these youth, but has shone a light on the gaps in the system. In partnership with Adalyia Parker and The 29:11 Project, we created Room for Hope. The goal is simple, but life-changing: provide a furnished, personalized living space to give these young adults the stability they need to transition into independent living. This initiative is growing faster than we ever imagined because of partners who lead with their hearts. At our 2024 Summit, Carol Berglund Morris (Owner/VP at Triton Investments) was so moved by the vision that she committed to a year of rent-free housing on the spot. Since then, the entire Triton team—led by Melissa Elson and Sydney Sagel—has been instrumental in making Room for Hope a success at their property. What started as a local pilot has gained national momentum. Since our last Entrata Summit, 25 Entrata customers have reached out to join us. We already have 7 confirmed partnerships for this year, with 13 more in the works. Just ten days ago, we completed another room in Salt Lake City with Mountain States Properties, and I can’t wait to share that story with you soon. Check out the video link in the comments…grab a box of Kleenex!

  • As we step into a new year, we’re reflecting on what matters most: connection, community, and the people who show up for children in foster care. This year, Utah Foster Care will continue expanding support for foster families, strengthening partnerships, and creating innovative programs that help children heal and thrive. We’re grateful to walk this journey alongside a community that believes every child deserves a safe, loving home. Join us at one of our upcoming events to show up for Utah’s kids: • Pieces of Me Art Show with Miss Utah All American – March 20 • Color the Town Purple (St. George) – March 30 • Utah Foster Care’s 17th Annual Symposium – April 23 • The BOSS Bus – June 18, July 16, August 5 • Fostering Hope Gala – September 18 For details or to get involved, contact Crystal Ashton at 801-245-0380 or crystal.ashton@utahfostercare.org

  • On Friday, we had the honor of joining so many incredible organizations and leaders at the annual Utah Philanthropy Day Luncheon. It was the perfect reminder of the power of community, generosity, and collective impact. Utah Foster Care was proud to celebrate and thank the volunteers, community partners, and champions who walk alongside us in supporting children in foster care and the families who care for them. From corporate partners who show up again and again, to individuals who give their time, talents, and hearts. You are the reason our mission moves forward. Your commitment creates connection. Your generosity creates stability. And together, you create hope for hundreds of children across Utah. Thank you Aptive Environmental, Club Paddock, Corner Canyon High School, Entrata, Western States Lodging Management and Development, Robin Huling, Pualeiala Lynn, Zina Reed and Janelle McGinty.

  • Thank you to the Utah FCCLA for focusing on Utah Foster Care this year with your service. The sock drive you are doing throughout Utah will make a difference to the 1700 kids in foster care throughout the state! A special thank you to First Lady Abby Cox for advocating for great organizations like FCCLA. When we lead with compassion, communities grow stronger.

I’m excited to share this post as part of my work with Nebo School District, where I support all Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs). As the State Adviser for Utah FCCLA, I’m continually inspired by the passion and leadership our students demonstrate across the state. This year, Utah FCCLA is honored to focus our statewide service initiative on supporting Utah Foster Care — an organization making a profound difference in the lives of children and families across our state. We’re especially grateful for First Lady Abby Cox and her incredible support of FCCLA and our mission to help others through leadership and service. Her message reminds us that when youth lead with compassion, communities grow stronger. ❤️ Our members across Utah are collecting items, raising awareness, and finding meaningful ways to serve children in foster care. Every act of kindness counts — and together, we are showing what it means to be Family, Career and Community Leaders of America. 🎥 Watch the First Lady’s message below and join us in making a difference. #UtahFCCLA #FCCLA #UtahFosterCare #UtahCTE #CTSOs # #UtahCTE #ServiceInAction #FCCLASocktober #CTE

Your commitment to our mission helps create lasting memories and stronger bonds for kids and families across our community. Together, we’re making a real difference—one campfire, one smile, and one family at a time.

  • A huge thank you to MX for donating 500 Caring for Children kits- yes, 500! These kits will be used across Utah in training sessions where we teach adults how trauma affects children and how to better support kids and families impacted by foster care. With this generous gift, we can equip hundreds of trauma-informed partners across Utah- each playing a role in caring for the nearly 2,000 children in foster care in the state.

  • Every month during the summer, Utah Foster Care rents a bus and fills it with over 25 incredible youth impacted by foster care. These are not just field trips—they’re journeys of hope. Through our BOSS Bus program (Belonging, Opportunity, Support, and Success), we introduce these young people to inspiring workplaces and career paths, helping them dream bigger and see what’s possible for their future. This summer, we’re deeply grateful to Chatbooks (Ana Vila and Vanessa Quigley), RealtyONE Group (Ravath Pok), Clearlink (Natalie Okeson and James Clarke), Swire Coca-Cola, USA (Michelle Chavez), Nicholas and Company Inc. Foodservice (Nicole Mouskondis) and J.P. Morgan (Mallory Santa Cruz) for opening their doors and hearts. Your generosity helps these youth feel seen, supported, and empowered to build a brighter tomorrow. Thanks especially to Swire Coca-Cola, USA for sponsoring the Utah Foster Care BOSS Bus program.
