As we approach Mother’s Day, it’s important to recognize that this time of year can bring a wide range of emotions. For the approximately 1 in 8 mothers who experience postpartum depression, days centered on celebration can also be difficult. Today, on World Maternal Mental Health Day, we acknowledge that the transition into parenthood is not always straightforward. Feelings of exhaustion, disconnection, or overwhelm are common and deserve recognition and support. Reducing stigma starts with honest conversation and making it easier to seek help.
