  • We're proud to be featured in the Los Angeles Business Journal's Who's Building LA spotlight! 🏗️ JRM delivered a high-end renovation of the Oceana Beach Club Hotel in Santa Monica, transforming the venue into La Monique, a new luxury dining destination, with the hotel fully operational throughout construction. The project was also recognized as Hospitality Project of the Year in the publications recent CRE Awards! The scope featured structural upgrades across three floors and exquisite custom finishes, including gold-leafed glass ceilings, honey onyx stonework, and marquetry straw-laid panels. • Last week, our VP of Estimating, Nathan Sher, LEED AP, joined industry leaders at Advancing Preconstruction in Phoenix, AZ to speak on strengthening conceptual estimating through better historical data practices. Nathan’s session explored strategies around standardizing and consolidating cost and productivity data, as well as leveraging both internal and external sources to improve estimating accuracy and support smarter budgeting decisions. Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed to the conversation around the future of preconstruction and estimating.

We are thrilled that the National Museum of Mathematics has been named a finalist in NYCxDESIGN’s Institutional category.   As the only experiential science center in the city devoted to mathematics, MoMath’s new home emphasizes inclusivity and accessibility, especially for schoolchildren and underrepresented communities, reaffirming its role as both a cultural landmark and a vital educational resource.   Congratulations to our project team, partners, and client on the recognition.

  • JRM is proud to have taken part in this meaningful Construction Safety Week conversation with the Department of Buildings, the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, and OSHA.   Bringing attention to mental health and wellness in construction is an important step toward creating a stronger, safer industry for everyone. We’re grateful to see continued leadership and advocacy around supporting workers not only on-site, but in every aspect of their wellbeing.

Construction Safety Week Day 3 🏗️ We kicked things off in Midtown with our largest safety talk of the week, joined by special guest Commissioner Alister F. Martin, MD, from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene alongside Commissioner Tigani, to highlight a critical message: Safety doesn’t stop when the workday ends. This week, NYC is expanding protections for construction workers beyond the job site by introducing new mental health training requirements for larger sites. Data consistently shows that mental health challenges and substance misuse are impacting the construction industry at high rates. These tragedies may not appear in our annual safety report, but their impact is real and deeply felt. That’s why, effective this week, anyone obtaining a Site Safety Training (SST) card to work on NYC's large and complex construction sites must complete a mental health & wellness course, covering suicide risk & prevention, as well as general mental health awareness. Because real safety means looking out for every worker, on and off the job.
