There’s nothing like a morning spent with like-minded young professionals who are passionate about making a difference in Houston. Our recent HOPE Leaders breakfast was a wonderful opportunity to connect and dive deeper into the Casa mission. We were honored to hear from Ben Brown, who has been a pillar of the Casa de Esperanza community since 2005. From his early days as a volunteer to co-founding our annual Chili Cook-Off, Ben is a true example of how one person’s commitment can grow into a lasting legacy for the children in our care. ❤️ The group also had the opportunity to tackle a small service project and put together “Caregiver Survival Kits” filled with goodies for the caregivers in our Foster Care Neighborhood. Plus, everyone walked away with a fresh professional headshot thanks to Quy Photography! 📸 Thank you Hyatt Regency Houston for hosting us and to everyone who joined us. We left feeling inspired by your energy and enthusiasm for supporting our mission!

Our Spirit of Hope Award honors individuals or organizations for the impact they have made, the hearts and lives they have changed forever, and the incredibly generous gifts and talents they have shared with Casa de Esperanza. We are pleased to announce this year’s Spirit of Hope Award will go to EOG Resources! EOG Resources is one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas companies in the United States. Headquartered in Houston with strong ties to the local community, EOG has supported Casa de Esperanza for over 25 years through annual holiday toy drives, grants, and hands-on volunteer support at their foster care community. Join us on Sunday, April 12th, 2026 to celebrate the huge impact that EOG Resources has made on the children and families we serve.

Our governing board spent a full day last week at their annual retreat, collaborating on our goals for the year and finding new ways to strengthen our support for Houston’s children and families in crisis. We are so thankful for their leadership and their unwavering commitment to our mission. To celebrate a successful day of planning, we enjoyed some ice cream with our kiddos in the foster care neighborhood!
