This AAPI Heritage Month, The Bridge is honored to recognize local domestic violence and sexual assault crisis centers that provide culturally competent care for Asian survivors. Representation, language access, and culturally informed services can make a meaningful difference in a survivor’s healing journey. The Bridge is also proud to support Asian survivors in our own community. Our services are available to everyone, regardless of identity, culture, background, gender, or experience. Every survivor deserves to feel safe, supported, and believed. #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #AAPIHeritageMonth

Mental health does not exist in a vacuum. For survivors of domestic and sexual violence, healing begins with safety, crisis support, and access to services that are often underfunded or overlooked. Survivor services exist because communities step in where systems fall short. That is why they remain so important today. During Mental Health Awareness Month, it is important to understand this connection. Supporting survivor services is mental health care. #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #SupportSurvivors

That’s What She Said went under the sea this month for a night of laughter, storytelling, and real moments of healing in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month. 🐚 It felt honest and warm and a little bit magical. People showed up, shared pieces of themselves, and made space for each other in a way that really mattered. We had a full house, and it meant everything to see the room filled with people ready to listen, support, and connect. We already can’t wait to do it again. Thank you to everyone who told their stories, performed, and showed up. You made the night what it was. So much appreciation to Leaps and Boundaries for bringing the laughs, The Coronation Theater for hosting us, and Jessica Thompson Falla for helping make it all happen. 🧜♀️

Denim Day began after a court ruling suggested a survivor’s clothing implied consent. In response, people around the world wore denim to stand against victim-blaming and support survivors. Today, we continue that message. What someone wears is never consent. #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #DenimDay #SupportSurvivors

Every face here was once a kid 💙 Now, this is who shows up. This is who does the work. This is who cares. Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month is a reminder that every child deserves the chance to grow up safe, supported, and free to become whoever they want to be. Because who they become matters. #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #ChildAbusePreventionMonth #ThisIsWho #BabyPhotoTrend

Last week, The Bridge For Kids was filled with color, creativity, and so much heart as we hosted our art show in honor of Child Abuse Prevention and Awareness Month. Every piece on display told a story of strength, expression, and healing. Art creates a space where words aren’t always needed… where emotions can be felt, released, and transformed into something beautiful. Watching our kids share their creativity in such a powerful way was something truly special. This event would not have been possible without the incredible support of Harris County Department of Economic Equity & Opportunity, Harris County Domestic Violence Coordinating Council, the Harris County Early Childhood Resiliency Fund, our sponsors, volunteers, teachers, advocates, and community members who showed up to make it all happen. Because of you, our kids were given a space to be seen, heard, and celebrated. Thank you for helping us create something so meaningful. 💙 #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #ChildAbusePrevention

Wearing blue today is about showing up for children and reminding our community that their safety matters. Each year in the United States, more than 600,000 children are identified as experiencing abuse or neglect. About 1 in 7 children will face abuse or neglect in a single year. These numbers reflect real lives and families who need support and care. At The Bridge, we support survivors and families every day. Awareness matters, but action creates change. #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #GoBlueDay #ChildAbuseAwarenessMonth

Today is SAAM Day of Action, also known as Teal Tuesday. 🩵 Wearing teal is more than just a color choice. It is a way to show support for survivors of sexual violence and a commitment to building a safer community. Sexual violence affects people of all ages, genders, and backgrounds. According to the Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network, someone in the U.S. is sexually assaulted every 68 seconds. Behind every number is a person who deserves to be heard, believed, and supported. At The Bridge, we stand with survivors every day by offering support, providing safety, and working to prevent violence before it starts. Support survivors always. #TheBridgeOverTroubledWaters #SAAM #TealTuesday #EndSexualViolence #SupportSurvivors
