A blooming success: ‘Summer Garden Party’ raises more than $100,000 for Strawberry Fields Inc.
Nearly 300 guests gathered in an intimate garden setting in State College, Pennsylvania, to sow seeds of support and raise critical funds for Strawberry Fields Inc., an affiliate of Devereux. Strawberry Fields’ “Summer Garden Party,” held at the home of longtime supporters Bruce and Susan Heim, generated more than $100,000 for the nonprofit’s social enterprise, Good Day Caf�, a coffee shop that provides employment opportunities for adults with disabilities. “We want to thank Bruce and Susan for welcoming guests into their home, their daughter, Janet Egerer, for shaping every detail of the event, and our generous sponsors and attendees for making it a night to remember,” said Strawberry Fields Chief Executive Officer Cynthia Pasquinelli. “The funds raised will directly benefit Good Day Caf�, ensuring it remains a place of opportunity where the adults we serve contribute to their community, achieve their goals – and thrive.” Helping adults build skills, confidenceThe event, themed around Japanese Zen Gardens, featured handcrafted sake cocktails and Japanese-inspired hors d’oeuvres, an artfully curated dinner infused with the flavors of Japan, a cigar lounge, and live entertainment. Pasquinelli noted, “Each year, this event gets bigger and better. This year, we set new records for attendance, sponsorship and funds raised! Together with our community supporters, we are offering those who work at Good Day Caf� more than a job, but a welcoming, supportive environment that empowers them to grow their skills and confidence, and fills them with a sense of purpose and possibility.” Up next: ‘Chefs on Stage’ eventStrawberry Fields is hosting is annual “Chefs on Stage” event on Sept. 22 at Toftrees Golf Resort.
