As a proud Manchester lad, working for The King's Trust allows me the opportunity to see first hand the positive impact our work has on the lives of young people in the local community (and across the UK). Its been a special year celebrating 50 years since HRH King Charles founded The Trust and we are working hard to achieve our vision of ending youth unemployment. But it’s also important to recognise those who make this possible, and its our employees who make The Kings Trust what it is, achieving the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter full membership recognition is the cherry on the cake.

Last week I had the pleasure of being one of the facilitators at the first in a series of Share and Learn sessions for the Greater Manchester Good Employment Charter. This session provided employers with information on recent changes to Parental Leave and Paternity Leave as well as the new Bereaved Partners Paternity Leave. We had so many great conversations around the support that is available for employee’s when experiencing some major life events. Employers shared best practice and their own examples of how these laws are used to provide support and flexibility alongside other family friendly legislation.
