From the racetrack to the road, technology transfer in action.
The new all-electric Mercedes-AMG GT 4-Door Coupé launched last night at a star-studded event in LA. With Toto, George, Kimi, Susie, Ola Källenius, Michael Schiebe, plus actors Brad Pitt and Gabriel Macht in attendance, it marked a major moment for Mercedes-AMG, and an exciting proof point for F1’s role as a catalyst for innovation.
At its heart is an F1 based high-performance electric battery, developed with expertise from Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains in Brixworth, alongside the engineering teams in Affalterbach. Designed for sustained, repeatable performance, it brings together an 800-volt architecture, direct cell cooling and extreme charging capability - delivering performance that is not just powerful, but durable and repeatable.
F1 has always been more than a sport. It is a high-speed laboratory, one where ideas are pushed to their limits, refined under pressure, and ultimately transferred into the cars of the future.
For Mercedes-AMG, the new GT 4-Door Coupé is a clear expression of that philosophy: performance, emotion and innovation, reimagined for the next era of mobility. For our team, it is another reminder of the impact our sport can have beyond Sunday afternoon.
And what a stage to launch it on.
With the Mercedes family coming together for a spectacular reveal, this was a celebration not only of a new car, but of the worlds that Mercedes-AMG continues to connect: motorsport, technology, performance, entertainment and culture.
The future of performance is being written now - and we are helping to write it.
