  • Proud to see the fourth‑generation heat network at Polmont coming to life. This 3D visualisation offers a rare look inside the energy centre and how the system is engineered to balance performance, resilience and electrical demand across the site. A great example of how modern heat networks can deliver low‑carbon heat at scale.

What does a fourth generation heat network actually look like? This 3D visualisation takes you inside the energy centre at Polmont - showing how the system is designed to balance performance, resilience and electrical demand across the development. At the heart of the scheme: • Three high-temperature heat pumps supporting peak shaving along side 100,000l of thermal storage  • Over 230 boreholes delivering low-carbon energy • More than 600 homes connected via Heat Interface Units • Over 100 boreholes already drilled and installation progressing at pace From compressors and thermal storage to expansion systems and filtration, this model reflects how the installed system is configured to operate in real life. It’s a practical example of how heat networks can be engineered to deliver low-carbon heat at scale. The project is being delivered for Energetics, with Cala Group Limited as developer. 🎥 Take a look inside the energy centre below. #HeatNetworks #LowCarbonHeat #EnergyTransition #SustainableDevelopment #DistrictHeating

  • Heat networks - facts about borehole drilling Our heat networks are made up of closed loop pipework in a series of boreholes which draw ambient heat from the ground. The borehole drilling is often one of the biggest unknowns for developers, and questions about space, access and disruption frequently arise. However, in practice, borehole drilling for ground source heat networks is far more flexible than many expect. With early planning, it can be integrated into most new-build sites without compromising layout, programme or buildability. Take a read below for some key facts about and find out more on our website: https://lnkd.in/eX8gZHGh

  • The importance of SuDS in new developments With the high levels of rainfall we’ve seen in 2026, now feels like a great time to highlight the importance of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) in new developments. As the UK’s wastewater infrastructure comes under increasing strain - alongside continued demand for new housing - early planning for SuDS is critical to delivering a resilient and compliant drainage strategy. While SuDS are primarily designed to manage surface water and reduce flood risk, well-designed schemes can also support biodiversity net gain, creating attractive, multi-functional spaces that benefit both people and wildlife. Early engagement with Energetics can help ensure your drainage and wastewater strategy is robust from the start, reducing risk and avoiding costly redesigns later in the project lifecycle. 👉 Find out more about our wastewater services here: https://lnkd.in/eE6fqzZV #WastewaterConnections #SuDS #BNG #NAVAdoption

  • We are proud to share some feedback from one of our recent projects which highlights our knowledgeable and helpful teams, and reflects our commitment to great customer outcomes. The Foundry in Glasgow consists of 209 new homes where Energetics delivered a full multi-utility package of electric, gas and water infrastructure. The project has now reached completion and, although the client NEW CITY VISION (UK) LIMITED Vision faced a number of challenges along the way, we've been recognised for the essential role we played in driving it to a successful conclusion. "I would like to thank all your departments from design, scheduling, project management, and installation.   We would also like to give special mention to George Agnew for his constant help and support and persistence as well as going above and beyond to achieve making the end dates." Thank you to all our colleagues whose expertise and collaboration helped us to successfully deliver another project! The importance of multi-utility strategies for developers. Our Director, Lisa Gunn, is discussing all things multi-utility in this month's edition of Energy Engineering magazine. Lisa outlines the challenges that come with a traditional approach to coordinating multiple utility companies, and how a multi-utility provider can mean faster turnaround times, greater efficiency and reduced delays. • A new era for heat networks! Today marks a milestone for heat networks in Great Britain with Ofgem becoming the regulator for heat networks. Starting today, heat network suppliers and operators need to comply with Ofgem's regulations which introduce new rules to protect customers. The regulation focuses on: 👩💻 Good customer service 📈 Improving reliability of energy supply 🧾 Transparent, easy to understand energy bills 💷 Fair pricing Delivering utility networks to high standards is something we are proud of, and regulating heat networks is a huge step in decarbonising new homes. This means we can still deliver to the high standards we currently do, but provide piece of mind to developers and ultimately, consumers. With over 2000 ground source heat connections being delivered across our Last Mile group, we're proud that our multi-award winning heat networks are already being owned and managed to the highest standards.
