It’s been a huge week for us at British Airways, as we flew out the largest ever UK delegation of leaders and entrepreneurs from across government, industry, and business on a special charter flight to Los Angeles. This was part of the Government’s Greater Together LA initiative – the fourth government trade mission BA has supported recently. The delegation was tasked with working with US counterparts to discuss how to create and grow greater and better connections and drive economic growth between the UK and US. At British Airways, the US is our biggest market and we know what we do, every day, along with our partner American Airlines, supports and enables the creation of these connections. At BA, we fly direct to 27 destinations in the US, and this year marks 65 years of flights between London and LA. Team BA and Team AA were proud to come together at the Greater Together event space to facilitate some of the important networking conversations between delegates – and invite them to try their hand at flying a 787 on our simulator (we were honoured to watch the incredible Tim Peake CMG effortlessly land the aircraft), take a look at our new First suite on our VR headsets, and try out some of the fantastic English wines and the Grind coffee (the iced Strawberry Mocha was a real treat in the heat) that we’re proud to serve on board. We were honoured to host Gareth Southgate at our evening event in West Hollywood. Our team also managed to catch up with Simon Cowell and Leona Lewis, who were on stage discussing shared UK and US creative ambition. Our people, partners, and suppliers all make BA what it is – we’re so grateful to Team BA, and to David Abrahamovitch, and everyone who came together to make it all happen. • Today, International Airlines Group (IAG) published its Q1 2026 results. At British Airways, we remained dedicated to our customers and colleagues as we navigated global challenges this quarter.   We also made progress in our transformation programme, including becoming the first UK airline to launch fast, free, reliable Starlink Wi‑Fi on board. Alongside this, we’ve continued to put customer confidence front and centre through the British Airways Holidays Promise - giving people added peace of mind when booking, knowing their holiday is protected so they can focus on looking forward to it.   Read Sean Doyle's update for more information.   #BritishAirways #IAG #FinancialResults

Today, International Airlines Group (IAG) published its Q1 2026 results. At British Airways we delivered an operating profit of £186m, up £90m compared to Q1 2025. While the situation in the Middle East has made the start of this year challenging for the entire aviation community, I’m really proud that we’ve remained focused on delivering the best service for our customers. We know that getting away on time is the most important part of the customer experience and during the first part of 2026, we achieved our best on-time performance since 2011. We’ve also reminded customers of our commitment to them with our British Airways Holidays Promise to give them peace of mind so they can book with confidence, knowing their holiday is protected and they can focus on looking forward to it. Under our transformation programme, last month we became the first UK airline to launch fast, free, reliable Starlink Wi-Fi on board. This is a major milestone and I’m so proud of the work behind the scenes as we continue the rollout. We know there is more to do as we prepare for the busy summer season. #BritishAirways #IAG #FinancialResults

  • Last week, we marked 90 years of flying between the UK and Nigeria 🇳🇬 To celebrate the milestone, we brought long‑standing partners, customers and colleagues together in Lagos to reflect on nine decades of connecting communities, supporting trade and strengthening cultural ties. From the evolution of our uniforms to a look ahead at our transformation, it was a proud moment to honour our heritage and share what’s still to come. Our Chief Commercial Officer, Colm Lacy, and Neil Chernoff, Chief Planning and Strategy Officer, were honoured to meet His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria; His Excellency Richard Montgomery, British High Commissioner; Mr Jonny Baxter, British Deputy High Commissioner; Festus Keyamo, Honourable Minister of Aviation; Mr Babajide Sanwo‑Olu, Governor of Lagos State; and Mrs Olubunmi Oluwaseun Kuku, Managing Director/CEO of FAAN. With daily flights from London Heathrow to Lagos and Abuja, and more than 320,000 seats flown between the two regions last year, it’s a connection we’re proud to continue strengthening. #BritishAirways #Lagos #Nigeria

  • Yesterday marked the launch of two new additions to our route network - St Louis, Missouri and Guernsey, Channel Islands ✈️ St Louis became our 27th destination in the US as the inaugural flight touched down in the Gateway to the West, with the first service operated by a full crew named Louis, Lewis or Louise. The route runs four times a week from London Heathrow over the summer season. Guernsey also joined our network, operating daily throughout the year. The inaugural flight was crewed by colleagues from the island, with customers enjoying a traditional Guernsey Gâche Mèlèe on board. Thank you to all the colleagues who worked behind the scenes and on the ground to welcome these routes to our network. #BritishAirways #StLouis #Guernsey
