Great to work together with students from the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences (HvA). Zakaria Nejjari, Texen Lansdorf and Lucas Cocu are contributing to Slow Mill Wave Power by bringing a strong ICT-perspective into the project. They are helping explore how technology can strengthen sustainable energy solutions. A strong example of how IT and renewable energy can reinforce each other in practice. #WaveEnergy #RenewableEnergy #SustainableInnovation #ICT #DigitalTransformation #Collaboration METIP

🚀 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭’𝐬 𝐚 𝐰𝐫𝐚𝐩! After four intensive program-, knowledge-, and conversation-packed days, the first ORESA Accelerator Week has officially come to a close – and what a journey it has been! 🌊 We embarked on a sunny offshore trip, a first for many, off the coast of Scheveningen where participants could view the wind farm from up close, while learning more about offshore testing & market opportunities. 📚 Add to that valuable training blocks delivered by the ORESA consortium, covering topics such as profitability & sustainability, LCA & circularity, nature-inclusive design and policies; aspects that sometimes remain untapped and proved to be useful for the innovators’ business cases. 🎙️ Connecting it all together, at the end of the week the four participating SMEs delivered energising pitches towards the panel consisting of the ORESA trainers and the Advisory Board members, who provided valuable real-world insights to the companies. A sincerest thank you to Weco - the Wave Energy Collective, Slow Mill Wave Power, Aerosense, Oceanus International, the ORESA consortium and the Advisory Board members Eneco, Subsea7, Bureau Veritas, Provincie Zuid-Holland for your enthusiasm and active collaboration throughout the whole week! 🗓️ Curious to hear what’s next? Check out more details about our upcoming accelerator & apply via this link 👉 https://lnkd.in/euC9_wzq! We’ll be looking for you, Belgian offshore renewable energy & nature+ innovators! We had a great start of the ORESA: Offshore Renewable Energy Sustainability Alliance accelerator week. With sunny weather and good company we sailed off from the port of #Scheveningen. First stop was the Offshore Test Site NL where you can test your offshore innovations under North Sea conditions. Slow Mill Wave Power will deploy their device this year for a full demonstration. Closeby is platform Q13, which in a next life could be used for experiments too. And further we went to Hollandse Kust Zuid, a 1.5 GW windfarm operated by Vattenfall. It’s pretty impressive to know that each rotor has a diameter of 200 meters. We can already see the next step for Slowmill after our offshore tests are done; a wave farm in between wind mills to produce even more renewable energy on the same footprint. The other days were filled with intense training on sustainability policies , environmental monitoring, LCA, circularity and nature-inclusive design (NID). Thanks to DMEC for a marvellous organisation, to our fellow trainees Weco - the Wave Energy Collective, ElectroReef and Aerosense and the continued support of De Blauwe Cluster, POM West-Vlaanderen, Exeedence, Stiftung OFFSHORE-WINDENERGIE, Blue Pelican Capital, France Énergies Marines, Universiteit Gent, Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI), Provincie Zuid-Holland, Eneco and Subsea7.

🌊 Slow Mill hits Californian waters! Join the conversation 🌎We’ve had an amazing time on the West Coast — and made big steps towards expanding our business internationally. This month we exhibited at #Ignite22, one of the key events for the sustainable #blueeconomy in the U.S., organized by Braid Theory at AltaSea at the Port of Los Angeles. Great to meet inspiring leaders like Terry Tamminen, and to connect with so many innovators shaping the future of ocean energy. This event also marked the conclusion of the #LABlue Accelerator program. Over the past months, we’ve gained valuable insights into the challenges potential customers face. A big thank you to Ann Lee Carpenter, Isabelle Bart 💡and our mentor Clay Sandidge for their incredible support and guidance. 🚢 We were also invited by the Port of Los Angeles for a special boat tour — meeting stakeholders and learning more about the opportunities for clean energy at one of the world’s busiest ports. 🌊 To top it off, we deployed one of our wave energy test devices in the salt waters of L.A.! Together with partners, we’re now preparing a full offshore test in the Pacific Ocean, showcasing our advantage in southern wave climates, enhancing marine biodiversity 🐠 and flexible deployment. The potential of wave and tidal energy is enormous — studies show these resources alone could cover up to two-thirds of the U.S. energy demand. With California leading the way, and major offshore wind developments on the East Coast, the U.S. is once again on track to become a true powerhouse of an independent future. ⚡ Want to join the conversation?
