What an inspiring week in Dublin for the Dutch Life Sciences & Health Trade Mission to Ireland! Together with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ireland, the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO) and Export Partner: Trade Exhibitions & Missions, TFHC was proud to co-organise a programme that brought together Dutch companies and key Irish stakeholders from across the healthcare ecosystem. Over the course of the mission, the delegation gained valuable insights into Ireland’s healthcare system, reform priorities, innovation landscape and collaboration opportunities. From the kick-off lunch and policy briefing sessions with the Department of Health - Ireland, Health Service Executive and Centric Health, networking reception organized with World Trade Centre Dublin, to the site visits at NovaUCD, St James's Hospital Dublin & Clinical Research Facility, Orwell Healthcare and Beacon Hospital, the programme created many opportunities for knowledge exchange, networking and future collaboration. A big thank you to all speakers, hosts and stakeholders who contributed to the success of this mission! The delegation gained specific insights into Ireland’s Sláintecare reform agenda, the practical challenges of digital transformation and scaling innovation, and the importance of interoperable data systems and integrated care pathways. The programme also highlighted how innovation hubs support testing, alongside the integration of person-centred long-term care and rehabilitation into healthcare delivery. Together, these learnings form a strong basis for future collaboration between Ireland and the Netherlands! The mission highlighted the strong alignment between Ireland and the Netherlands in addressing healthcare challenges through innovation, digitalisation and collaboration. We look forward to building on the momentum created during this week with more activities, partnerships and continued Dutch engagement in Ireland in the years ahead. What a pleasure it was to work alongside the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ireland in welcoming their Life Sciences & Health delegation to Dublin this week. This mission was a joint initiative organised by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ireland, Task Force Health Care (TFHC), Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) | Partner in Sustainable Development Agency, and Export Partner, with support from the World Trade Center Dublin, all with one clear objective, to further strengthen Irish–Dutch trade relations within the healthcare and life sciences sectors. Having had the opportunity to work with the Embassy and several of the Dutch companies previously, it was fantastic to reconnect with old friends, including Daan Hittema and Wim Altena, while also building many new relationships along the way. As they say, relationships are built step by step, so a sincere thank you to the Dutch delegation for taking that first step by travelling to Dublin and engaging so openly with the Irish ecosystem. To our Irish attendees, as always, you truly impressed. From supporting site visits and engaging in meaningful conversations, to extending the warmest of Irish welcomes at the reception, your willingness to collaborate and take that second step never goes unnoticed. The Netherlands and Ireland continue to be significant trade partners, and through initiatives like this, we only strengthen those ties further. Jointly organized by Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ireland, Task Force Health Care (TFHC), Netherlands Enterprise Agency and Export Partner , the delegation received a warm welcome from the Netherlands Ambassador to Ireland Maaike van Koldam , highlighting the importance of this mission in strengthening and advancing the Irish-Dutch trade relations. Day one focused on engaging with key public stakeholders, offering valuable insights into the Irish healthcare system, national policies, innovation priorities, and opportunities for international collaboration. Ireland offers strong opportunities for collaboration across the healthcare ecosystem. The HSE is driving digital transformation across the sector, while the MedTech cluster continues to grow around Dublin and Galway, making it an important entry point for companies looking to connect, learn and scale. The programme will bring the delegation into contact with key Irish stakeholders across policy (Department of Health and HSE), hospitals (St James Hospital and Beacon Hospital) and innovation hubs (NovaUCD).
