🗣 “So… how was the marathon?” We’re pretty sure this has been the most frequently asked question in every office this week - whether people are gathering by the coffee machine, grabbing lunch, or filling those awkward silences before a Zoom call. Sun Finance is no different… and oh boy, we do have reasons to talk!🤩 🏃This year, 25 colleagues took on different challenges at the Rimi Riga Marathon: 🎯15 ran 10 km 🎯 6 conquered the half marathon (21 km) 🎯 4 powered through 6 km 🎯 And one absolute legend somehow decided one distance wasn’t enough… and ran BOTH the 21 km and 10 km. Well… who needs those knees anyway? 🤷 What’s even more impressive? Many smashed their personal bests this year, while others proved that simply showing up, pushing forward, and crossing the finish line is already a huge win. And who knows - maybe next year someone will wake up one morning and say: “Call it a midlife crisis or whatever, but I’m running a full marathon… and nobody’s stopping me.” Whether it was a new record, a first race, or just surviving the last kilometer with dignity intact, we’re incredibly proud of every single one of them. 👏💪 Team spirit looks good in running shoes! #SunFinance #marathon #teamgoals

The Baltic fintech ecosystem continues to gain visibility and momentum on the global stage – and we’re proud to be part of it! Just last year at Baltic Fintech Days 2025, Sun Finance was named “Company of the Year”. And now, in 2026, our CEO, Toms Jurjevs, joined the conversation as a panel speaker, sharing insights on building strong teams by attracting and retaining the right people. During the week, Toms also took part in discussions at Latvijas Banka alongside other leading companies from the Latvian fintech industry, speaking about scaling businesses globally. 🚘 Our CEO, Toms Jurjevs, believes that business is not so different from driving a car – how fast you can go depends on the gear you’re in. And recently, we shifted into the next one by reaching an important milestone: total amount of our loans issued worldwide has exceeded 5 000 000 000 EUR! 👏 “Nowadays, almost everyone drives automatic, but back in my day, manual cars were the go-to choice. Building a business is very similar to driving in first gear – you start slowly and gradually pick up speed, gear by gear. Now we can proudly say we’ve reached fifth gear, and from here, we can accelerate faster than ever!” says Toms. Five billion is more than just a number – it reflects years of dedication, innovation, trust, and teamwork across the entire Sun Finance group. As usual, we marked the occasion with some sweet calorie intake. Last year, we started the tradition with four cakes, and this year – five! Recently, our office lounge turned into a mini Africa!🚴 Well, without lion roars and extreme temperatures, but with stories of dust, heat, cold, brutal climbs, and moments (too many to count!) of “Why am I even doing this?!” 👏 So, what was the deal? Our COO, Emils Latkovskis, together with fellow riders, shared their experience from the legendary Absa Cape Epic - an 8-day bike race ridden strictly in pairs. That means staying within shouting distance of your teammate at all times… because if, for any reason, one doesn’t finish, there’s no result for the other either.⛔ Sounds easy so far? 🗺️ Let’s add a few details: A total distance of 707 km and 15,900 m of elevation gain. It’s like riding from Riga to Warsaw, but through dust, heat and cold… while climbing Everest twice! Every year, this pure African madness brings together around 1500 participants from all over the world - and this year, these four riders represented Latvia. Participants ride bikes that cost as much as some cars and travel with suitcases filled with 200+ energy gels. The yellow helmet Emīls brought to the story night was proof that things don’t always go as planned… but then again, isn’t the "unexpected" part of every great journey? There were laughs, disbelief, and a lot of respect for what it takes to push your limits like that. Because these are the kinds of adventures we remember for life. The one and only Sun Finance IT Townhall 2026! 👏 This year, we explored key topics shaping our work - from marketing insights and launching new GEOs to implementing strategies and adapting to ever-changing social media algorithms. Great partnerships turn into great ideas! 🤝💡 Recently, we welcomed our long-time partners from Amazon Web Services (AWS) for a dedicated SF & AWS AI Day conference. This year’s event focused on the practical and secure adoption of AI. Together with AWS experts, our team explored how smart AI solutions can be applied in real business scenarios – from fraud prevention to conversational analytics. Diving deep into AI-driven fraud use cases at Sun Finance, gaining practical insights into leveraging AI on AWS for business solutions, the agenda also featured live demos with AI Agents and how to build your own LLM Agentic solutions. To wrap up the day, we rolled up our sleeves during a hands-on lab session, working with Amazon Quick Suite and other AI-powered tools. “AI days like this are highly valuable for us because they make the agentic AI approach tangible – especially exploring how STRANDS-based models can orchestrate intelligent, task-driven workflows rather than just isolated predictions. Having leading experts on-site enables far broader participation than sending a few people to workshops or conferences abroad, making it an excellent first step for business stakeholders and junior data scientists to understand the real practical impact of AI on our operations,” says Agris Vaselāns, Group Chief Risk & Data Officer at Sun Finance.
