Each year, every Humanitix employee receives a share of our profit pool to donate to a charity of their choice.
Because the people who build our impact should also have a say in shaping the good it does for the world.

of staff-directed donations
About Staff Giving
Most corporate giving programs funnel resources toward a single, leadership-chosen cause. We think our impact should be as diverse as our perspective.
Our people come from different backgrounds, hold different values, and care deeply about different corners of the world. Our Staff Giving program reflects that diversity and honours the unique passions of our people, multiplying impact across dozens of causes every single year.

This is such a cool charity that reaches rural communities in Kenya that are often overlooked, giving the people there a feeling of love from halfway across the world.
It was probably one of the highlights of my year, because they talked me through how far the donation would go to support people who were seriously in need of a helping hand.
So grateful to work for a company who doesn't just talk the talk, but walks the walk.
I loved how it focused on breaking the cycle of poverty through long-term solutions (like farming support and small business development)!
It felt amazing, it was more money than I've ever given out before so there was definitely a lot of weight to the decision. I found it really rewarding doing prior research & particularly being so involved (when we called the Director of Philanthropy directly).
I was thinking back to it for the weeks following. It breaks down barriers to giving in broader life. There is a sort of invisible wall in regards to donating money in everyday life that I didn’t realise that I had, and staff giving has torn this down to some extent.
"It really puts into perspective what an amazing opportunity it is to work for a company like Humanitix, our work directly leads to money creating better lives for people globally."
Access to education and healthcare has been instrumental in my own empowerment as a woman in the world. Transparency and intentionality is also important to me, so I wanted to choose a charity that invested in researching effective giving.
It felt like hope. It was profoundly meaningful - and quite simply, the right thing to do - to use my own opportunities to now offer the same empowerment to other women and girls.
It was such a unique opportunity to give such a meaningful amount - something I might never be capable of anywhere else.
GiveDirectly empowers the world's poorest people to decide what they need most.
Telling charities you've donated to them rules. I wasn't telling the recipients themselves, so there's still distance in the connection, but I don't think charitable donations need to "feel good" in order to be very worthwhile.
I felt glad that my day to day work meaningfully contributes to positive changes for those that need it most.
We trust GiveWell’s research-based approach, transparency, and the real impact it has on people’s lives across Africa.
It felt incredibly meaningful and uplifting to give more generously through the Humanitix staff giving program - and even more so as a collective, pooling our resources together.
Knowing the money would go toward worthy causes and create real, lasting impact made us feel happy and fulfilled; a reminder that small contributions can change, and even save, lives.

Social connection and a pain-free existence are a birthright, and both are at risk for women with fistula. After learning about how dehumanising fistulas can be, and also how effective and low cost the surgeries are, this seemed like one of the best ways to have a positive impact.
It’s special to donate as a group and gift a more meaningful sum, as well as it being an unexpected donation which caught the Barbara May Foundation team by surprise. The key people in the charity spend 10+ months a year in the Horn of Africa, working in horrid conditions, helping people who are suffering immensely.
Humbled. Deeply. I’m thankful to work in an organisation who offers us the ability to put our money where our mouth is.
I first heard about this charity when I was working onsite at Fire in the Mountains with Humanitix. The festival has a partnership with the Firekeeper Alliance which serves community members within the Blackfeet Nation in suicide prevention and mental wellness. They provide creative outlets and mental health support that simply let kids be kids - it really moved me learning about their work.
Hearing the excitement in Charlie’s voice was astounding since he pours his life into these programs and truly deserves the support.
I’m honored to play a small part, but the real credit goes to people like Charlie! Without them, these programs wouldn't exist.
I believe that strong mental health and a strong, supportive community can solve most challenges in life.
It was such a beautiful experience. They are so grateful to receive our support and excited to use our donation for their next set of programs.
Inspired, to say the least!
I understand how meaningful it is for someone to be heard. I volunteer on a 24/7 helpline, answering calls from people who need someone to listen, and I see firsthand how simply listening can make a real difference.
The personal value I got from this experience is immense. It felt good to know the donation was received and valued.
I felt grateful to be able to support a cause that is very close to my heart.
As someone in recovery, I believe wholeheartedly in their mission to increase access to recovery, prevention, and mental health resources for everyone who needs them.
For lack of a better word, I experienced a great deal of gratitude to be able to share with the team the charity I chose and my motivation for choosing Shatterproof.
I could see that the work I was doing was making real change, in a real way and for real people. To be part of an organization that allows me to directly take part in our donations is a bright spot in my life that I hope others have the opportunity to participate in. This is the greatest show on earth!

It represents my childhood, my home, and the wonders of Seattle’s nature. Growing up, we would spend lots of time at the Arboretum.
My older brother, Josh, was tragically killed in 2021 by an impaired driver, and this loss changed everything for us. The pain and grief were something we could not understand or handle, but one of the only ways to find reprieve was through nature, parks, and walking. Today, my mom continues to walk the Arboretum as she feels it is a safe place to process her thoughts.
This was a beautiful and invigorating feeling, to be empowered to make a donation of my choosing, in my own city and backyard.
I felt such a joy and honor. The impact we already make through each and every ticket sold in addition to getting to choose a donation of our own is a powerful feeling.
Justin: My experience in climate tech shaped how strongly I value environmental action. Planting trees is one of the most tangible ways to make a lasting difference. I appreciate that this charity pairs environmental restoration with community-led poverty reduction.
I like how simple and concrete planting trees is. I'm glad to have pooled our contributions to create a much larger impact. I'm proud to play a small part in something that creates real change.
Growing up spending my summers on Minnesota lakes, I couldn't think of a better place to direct my Humanitix staff donation.
It was an honor to call the Conservancy team and share the news of our contribution, especially as we celebrate the 50th anniversary of Voyageurs becoming a National Park. This donation helps support the next 50 years (and beyond) of preservation and access.
It was surreal to see my daily work translate into a contribution for a place that shaped my life.

The dignity, calm and connection that it brings into people's lives.
Sam: It was such a pleasant surprise to learn Alex also chose the same cause. That felt really affirming.
It costs around $288 to run a shift - which means $15,000 could cover 52 shifts, or an entire year’s worth of shifts! That's a pretty cool feeling.
"Everyone deserves a safe place to live and grow, a chance to live a healthy and joyful life."
I've been taken aback by the concerning statistics around domestic violence and harassment. It made me think about the lack of safe spaces for women and their families that help empower them to escape terrible situations. Donating to an organisation like WCS became an obvious choice to actively help build those safe spaces and resources for women to feel safer in my own community.
It is so incredibly heartwarming to see a message with the heading "What a wonderful message to receive!" and hear first-hand what this donation can be immediately put to use towards from the staff and WCS. It made the impact feel incredibly real.
I'm both ecstatic that I could help empower others to continue such amazing work, and just absolutely humbled that there are leaders out there driving these sorts of changes through this work.
The work they are doing is crucial in ending the perpetual cycle of family violence in Aotearoa. NZ has extremely high rates of domestic violence in the OECD, and even then around 60% is still unreported. Helping victims set up new safe houses where they don't need to stress about finances and necessary household items provides them with much needed stability and a chance to heal.
Woven Earth were blown away with our donation as it was a much needed boost for them as their government funding had been cut back. They invited us to spend a day with them setting up an actual home for a survivor of domestic violence. We got to meet the amazing woman moving in and her gratitude was immeasurable.
Being able to see the real impact that our donations have on real people in very real situations was incredibly emotional and I still carry the impact of it to this day.

It was difficult figuring out who to donate to, but I ended up landing on something that felt personal. My mum is a nurse and used to work with Alt-Education kids back during Covid and she mentioned that she frequently worked with a few charities to help kids and their families through tough times. From her experience, it sounded like Visionwest was the most impactful and was providing a visible benefit to those families.
Fun, nerve-racking, and vulnerable, especially when we got to talking about the personal reasons behind the donation.
Odd and grateful, I’ve never donated a large amount of money all at once and I was grateful that it got to be so personal to me. It was also so heartwarming chatting with my mum after the fact and talking to her about the donation.
"Making the donation felt heartwarming knowing how much of a difference this was going to make to so many children across the country."
In NZ there are about 20,000 children with a parent in prison, and they are 10x more likely to end up in prison themselves without intervention or support. Kids are often overlooked and forgotten about when it comes to incarcerated adults, at no fault of their own, so it felt important to be able to contribute to an organisation helping to end the cycle of intergenerational offending.
Once we got each other on the phone, it was a half an hour call of immense "thank you'" and "I don't even know what to say" - they were so honoured we had heard of them, and chosen to donate. We were invited to their HQ to meet the team, hear about what exactly the funds were going to be able to help them achieve, and the awesome work they've already been able to do.
Being able to hear about children with lived experience of growing up with a parent in prison, and learning about the support they received through Pillars and how it changed their lives, and how they themselves are now going on to help change the lives of other children in similar situations, was incredibly eye-opening.
"I felt proud to work in a place that enables me to have impact not only in my day-to-day work with event hosts, but also with those that mean a lot to me back in my community."
I volunteered for them during my high school years, seeing how far their book, clothing and household item donations went for those living on tight margins in the Greater Capital Region. Their commitment to relationship development and outreach in the community was hard to miss, truly trying to make a difference in the lives of families that needed assistance.
It was wonderful, telling Roberta and Mary (Grassroots' Co-Founders) - they are the most lovely women ever. They couldn't have been more thankful to receive the donation, and love what we do at Humanitix... turning real experiences into real impact!
I have so many reasons to be proud, so it only embellished my desire to grow with Humanitix so we can continue to amplify our impact.

We're nerds who love science, and we want to help DeadlyScience continue to inspire and support Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander STEM learners.
It was not what we expected! Corey Tutt's (the founder of DeadlyScience) wife was literally about to give birth, yet he still responded to our email 4 minutes later to thank us.
Andy: I'd only joined Humanitix a few months prior, and it was touching to have 2 amazing colleagues offer to pool their funds with me to make a meaningful donation to a wonderful charity. Corey also made a set of clap sticks for our office, which we treasure.
Brendon: Jake and I had a chance to donate a large amount in the previous year. Given that, we thought we'd combine our allotment to give a newbie a chance to make a larger impact on something they believed in.
I decided to ask my sister what cause/charity would be meaningful for her. As a primary school teacher, supporting children's education, especially for kids in disadvantaged circumstances, was top of mind. We saw the great work The Smith Family is doing and wanted to help out there!
The experience was very straightforward, gave them a call and finalised everything through email. It felt really lovely to give back.
It was beautiful to be able to share this journey with my sister - I often say she's on the 'frontlines' when it comes to impacting children's lives, so it's wonderful to be able to contribute in my way as well!

As immigrant women ourselves, we know how tough it can be to start over in a new country without support, friends, or community. SisterWorks gives women a chance to learn, grow, and earn - it's important to help our sisters gain independence financially as well as grow confident in themselves.
We gave Tania a call who said our combined donation really made her day! She was so warm and excited - you could tell how much she cared about her work, and that made the experience really special.
We all felt really happy and warm inside being migrant women ourselves. Just knowing that even a small contribution can help someone feel more confident and connected made us feel hopeful.
"I truly admire the work they do and the way they empower women to begin a new chapter in their lives."
I have had to navigate the life of a queer Asian Chinese immigrant myself in a different country with a different culture for over a decade. The work Language Justice Network does to expand translating services for LGBTQIA+ people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds will make the process of integrating into Australian society less lonely and stressful for people who are just like me.
My heart was filled with overflowing joy!
A sense of pride and achievement I have never felt before because I got to give back to the community who has supported me.
I chose this charity because of the real impact it has on young women and children - they rescue them from incredible hardship and actually provide them with the skills and education they need for a fresh start which I thought was fantastic. I wanted to support a cause that doesn't just help people get by, but actively equips them with the tools to rebuild their lives and lead their communities!
Seeing first hand the good work that we do and the inspirational people we get to connect with, I felt incredibly proud to be a part of a team like this.
You can't imagine the circumstances they have had to endure, so to be able bring some positivity with a donation was a great feeling.

Bernie: When I moved to Denver, I started volunteering at Metro Caring on Wednesday nights after work. I wanted to donate to a place where I could see the impact with my own eyes. I look forward to every volunteer shift where I can meet members of the community and facilitate the ops of an awesome org.
They were stoked! Their initial reaction was: "that's many months of rice and beans for the community!"
I felt like despite all the chaos going on in the world, there is still room for a lot of positivity to take place.
"I felt proud, grateful, and deeply fulfilled! Working for an organization like Humanitix that empowers employees to choose where charitable funds go makes the act of giving feel personal and intentional."
Belle: Improving school food is one of the most powerful ways to support children’s health, equity, and long-term wellbeing. I studied nutrition in college and saw firsthand, through my internship with the Whole Kids Foundation, how transformative school meals can be, especially when students have access to fresh, whole foods! The Chef Ann Foundation’s Salad Bar program and their focus on creating systemic change really resonated with me.
They were a little shocked about the amount the three of us were able to pool together! They were super excited and told us about all of the different things that we could choose to direct our funds to. We chose to focus on salad bars in schools, as that would make the biggest impact with the amount that we were able to donate.
The three of us got to go to a local school at lunch to witness the salad bar in action, talk with students, and experience the energy in the cafeteria, which was incredibly meaningful.
It was incredible donating to an org whose headqusarters are 25 minutes away from our office. Being able to see their work in action made it extra special.
We were inspired by the clear, simple mission. Providing a cooked meal is one of the most direct ways to show people in crisis that someone cares.
It made what we do at work feel more impactful and real.
Connecting our day-to-day work to a meaningful donation felt really rewarding.
