Schema Generation Wizard F1 Help (Analysis Services - Multidimensional Data)

Use the Schema Generation Wizard to automatically generate the relational schema for a subject area database that is based on existing cubes and dimensions. Additionally, you can populate tables generated by the wizard for time dimensions and manage naming convention and options for the subject area database.

Depending on the objects to be generated, the Schema Generation Wizard guides you through some or all of the following steps:

  • Identifying the destination data source views to contain the relational schema.

  • Setting options for creating the subject area schema.

  • Specifying the naming conventions to be used.

  • Saving the schema.

After you generate and save a relational schema by using the Schema Generation Wizard, you can use the wizard to later modify and repopulate the relational schema.
