🎬Transport Research Arena (TRA) 2026 is underway in Budapest and the ERTICO - ITS Europe's team have contributed to many discussions on international cooperation, digital logistics, CCAM collaboration and multimodal innovation deployment: 🔹CEO Joost VANTOMME (LL.M) contributed as Rapporteur on “International Cooperation: One system, many actors”, exploring how Europe can strengthen collaboration with global mobility partners. He was also honoured with the invitation by Steve Phillips to take part in an exclusive workshop with the Governing Board of Conference of European Directors of Roads (CEDR) on skills and workforce. 🔹Head of Transport for Logistics, Dr Eusebiu Catana's delivered a keynote on ‘Key Lessons and Next Steps from the EU-Funded Projects’ with insight into regulation and compliance of existing transport and logistics systems, highlighting boostEDIC M&L, SCUDO Project 3DxVERSE Project and O-CEI Horizon. 🔹 On Tuesday, 19th May, the CCAMbassador project (Connected Automated Driving in Europe), coordinated by ERTICO, and SYNERGIES Project, coordinated by Applus+ IDIADA, organised a joint workshop bringing together UCLA, represented by Professor Jiaqi Ma, and Jane Lapin. While several CCAM projects and stakeholders joined to exchange views on Connected and Cooperative Mobility, ERTICO was represented by Dr Stephane Dreher, Head of CCAM and Senior Manager András Csepinszky. Both sides provided an overview of their respective activities and explored potential areas for cooperation. By the end of the workshop, all parties agreed on the importance of continuing the discussion and developing concrete proposals to strengthen synergies between their projects and activities, align standardisation-related efforts, and prepare a joint plan for further consideration. 👏We were also honoured to organise the SUM Project's last Annual Event, attracting more than 80 participants to discuss and exchange insight into ‘Shared Mobility: Measuring Impact, Shaping Policy’. After 3 years of work and especially implementation, our team at ERTICO organised and chaired the event, covering key findings, policy recommendations and exploitation results, including how we will continue to help the roll-out initiatives through the ERTICO Academy and the first-of-its-kind Open Data Platform tracking the impact of policy on New Shared Mobility. 🌍 At Applus+ IDIADA, staying with the company doesn't mean staying in one place It means growing across borders, evolving as a professional, and experiencing life from a completely new perspective. Working with global clients opens doors to international opportunities, and today, three of our colleagues share what it's really like to go for it with #InternationalMobility. All three started at our main technical center in Spain, but their careers took them across the world. Their journeys remind us that sometimes, the best way to move forward is to move beyond your comfort zone. Jiayin Chen Su moved to Brussels and for her, the decision was clear. "I've always known #ApplusIDIADA offered international working, so when the opportunity came through, there was no reason to think twice about it." Moving with IDIADA colleagues made all the difference: "incorporating to the new environment was smoother too since you are not alone in a foreign country where everyone is, probably, a stranger to you." The experience went far beyond work: "It definitely has been an experience not only in work but also in life." Her advice? "Go for it!" ✨ Artur Garcia i Gomis landed in Sweden straight from university; new job, new country, new life. "Everything was absolutely new for me, from working for the first time as an engineer to doing laundry in a language I don't even understand." But that inner spark of curiosity and adventure pushed him forward. What surprised him most? "We're thousands of kilometers apart, but the collaboration is constant and essential. A huge global machine with gears spread across the world." 🌐 Sergi Guarnich has been with IDIADA for 8 years and spent 2 years in the USA expanding his skills and perspective. "It's a great opportunity to expand my management skills, learn about a new culture and adapt my problem-solving techniques." The Michigan office? "Feels like a family, and I have received a lot of support from my team, managers, and colleagues on how to start building my life here." His takeaway? "It's an experience that everyone should do at least once... it will make you see the world with different eyes and with a more open mind." 💡 International mobility at IDIADA is about gaining new skills, embracing new cultures, and expanding your perspective, all while staying part of the same global family.
