Switzerland is #1 for innovation, but what makes it so strong? 🇨🇭 Behind the rankings is a connected ecosystem: excellent research, highly skilled talent, close collaboration between science and business as well as the right conditions to turn ideas into impact. 💡This combination helps to move innovation from the lab to the market across sectors, disciplines and regions. 🔥Swiss startup days once again highlighted the strength and diversity of the Swiss start-up ecosystem. For Innosuisse, these exchanges are essential. They allow us to listen to founders, connect with partners and reflect on how we can continue to support innovation in Switzerland in a relevant way. Thank you to everyone who joined the conversations in Bern and contributed to making the event such a valuable gathering and to Tugi Guenes for the great recap!🙌

🚀 Swiss startup days - the annual gathering of a growing Swiss startup ecosystem. It has been a pleasure to be there with my colleagues from Innosuisse. Some personal highlights: 🤝 Reconnecting with familiar faces and meeting new builders and supporters shaping the Swiss entrepreneurship landscape 📢 The “10 Golden Pitching Rules” workshop with Stefan Huber (StoryUp GmbH / Innosuisse Coach) and Philippe Ganz (aiEndoscopic) - a great reminder that telling a clear story is challenging, but becomes much easier when focusing on a few key fundamentals (see comments for a linked post) 💡 Inspiring 1-on-1 meetings with founders confirming both the relevance of the support and funding offered by Innosuisse and opportunities for us to improve further 📜 An insightful session and practical playbook on startup collaboration with corporates and SMEs by Ypsomed AG (Simon Michel, Andreas Schneider) and in collaboration with Vincent J. Irrling (see short version in comments) 🏔️ And of course, the amazing panorama of Bern as seen from Kursaal Bern AG 🙂 Thank you to everyone who took the time for a chat and to all involved in making the event happen. Switzerland ranks 3rd globally for corporate R&D intensity. 🇨🇭 A new EY study looking at the world’s top 500 corporate R&D investors highlights the strength of Switzerland’s innovation-driven economy. 🥉In 2025, the 14 Swiss companies included in the ranking invested an average of 8.4% of their revenue in research and development — placing Switzerland 3rd worldwide, behind the Netherlands and the United States. This result emphasises the importance of long-term investment in innovation, as well as the strength of an environment in which companies, research institutions and public bodies collaborate to transform knowledge into progress. Thank you to EY for bringing these insights to light and to Greater Geneva Bern area (GGBa) area for the graphic and the article below. Read more 👉 https://lnkd.in/eA4HGGb6

🚀When international cooperation accelerates innovation. “The intervention of Eureka really changed the pace of the project. This would have been probably a long-term project, evolving really slowly and having dedicated time and resources to complete the project really paced up the speed and got us to reach the milestones eventually”- Léa Perles, Strategic Operations Associate Director at Brenus Pharma 🟢In this video series, we showcase three of the successful Eureka projects that marked 40 years of our history. Today we talk about Allogenix, led by Brenus Pharma. 🔬Brenus Pharma is fighting cancer by targeting one main challenge: cancer plasticity. Together with Swiss company InSphero, they developed a 3D model adapted to oncology treatments which, thanks to Eureka and the funding provided by Bpifrance and Innosuisse, is now being tested on patients, with good results. 👉For these small companies, Eureka provided a frame for proper organisation, structure and strategic protection. Today, Innosuisse joined the Women in Tech Get Together at Siemens in Zurich — an evening dedicated to role models, individual career paths and strong networks. Innovation thrives when different perspectives come together. Especially in tech, visible role models can open doors, spark confidence and show that there are many ways to shape the future. 👆That is why conversations like today’s matter: they help connect people, ideas and experiences across the Swiss innovation ecosystem. Thank you to Siemens, Ladies Drive, Sandra-Stella Triebl and the speakers for the inspiring impulses. #WomenInTech #Innovation

“Eureka is for us an ideal instrument as it allows flexibility. It is also bottom-up driven so whatever problem you want to solve in an innovative way, you have a space in Eureka to solve this.” 🟢We have been funding research and innovation for 40 years. During this time, we have helped many innovative projects reach the market, from microchips in ID card to Alzheimer’s treatments. 👉In this video series, we want to showcase three of these wonderful successes that deeply resonate with us. Hear from Andy De Mets, Coordinator External R&D and Innovation programs at Barco, how Eureka and its Cluster ITEA 4 offered the perfect framework to cooperate within a large consortium of 21 members from three countries. 🏙️Thanks to Eureka and the funding provided by VLAIO, Barco transformed city planning. Through a transportable cave solution, citizens can now see in virtual reality how the new city would look like and provide feedback before any change in urban planning is made. By offering a platform for international cooperation and knowledge sharing, Eureka helped Barco and its partners to create tangible impact for citizens in Europe and beyond.
