Celebrating Impact: 2025 Alta Cares Golf Charity Event

Alta Material Handling proudly hosted the inaugural Alta Cares Charity Golf Event at Royal Woodbine Golf Club in Ontario, bringing together our valued suppliers, partners, and customers in support of MS Canada. Thanks to the incredible generosity and participation of everyone involved, we successfully raised and donated $20,150.00 in proceeds to MS Canada to help fund critical research, advocacy, and support programs impacting the lives of the 90,000 Canadians living with multiple sclerosis.

What is Multiple Sclerosis? 🧠

MS is a chronic disease that affects the central nervous system; the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves. It occurs when the immune system attacks the protective coating around nerves, disrupting communication in the body. This damage can worsen over time and lead to lasting impairment.

🇨🇦 Canada has one of the highest rates of MS in the world, with about 90,000 people living with the disease — roughly 1 in 400 Canadians.

📅 About 12 Canadians are diagnosed every day.

👥 MS often appears in early adulthood, with an average diagnosis age of 43.

👩🦰 Women are affected far more often — about 75% of people living with MS in Canada are women.
