Another PhD student recognized for science advances that impact human health. Congratulations Alan Jese Rivas Muñoz on this award and Prof Abhinav Jha !
I am honoured and excited to share that I have been awarded a Student Research Grant from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) for the project: “A No-Gold-Standard Approach for Objective Evaluation of Methods to Process Low-Dose PET Images.” This work focuses on developing objective evaluation frameworks for low-dose PET imaging methods when ground-truth information is unavailable, a major challenge in quantitative molecular imaging. As PET imaging continues to evolve with advances in AI, digital scanners, and radiopharmaceutical therapies, reliable evaluation strategies are becoming increasingly important for clinical translation and quantitative oncologic imaging. I am deeply grateful to Dr. Abhinav Jha for his mentorship, guidance, and continuous support throughout this project. I would also like to thank WashU Biomedical Engineering, WashU Medicine Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology and the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) for supporting student research and investing in the future of nuclear medicine.
