GreenTech team participated in the 10th edition of 𝐏𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 – 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞, one of the most important events dedicated to plastics recycling and circular economy in Europe.
Over two intensive days, our commercial team had the opportunity to engage with industry partners, customers, suppliers and European associations from across the value chain.
As an active supporter of a 𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐧 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲, we also discussed with Ton Emans, President of Plastics Recyclers Europe (PRE), the latest market developments, as well as the key challenges and opportunities shaping the future of recycled plastics with the common objective of strengthening and further amplifying the voice of recyclers across Europe.
𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞 𝐤𝐞𝐲 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐏𝐑𝐒𝐄 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔:
♻️ A common message from European recyclers remains consistent: ensuring a fair level playing field within the EU is critical to protect European industrial assets and maintain competitiveness.
📜 Regulation continues to play a crucial role in driving the market towards transparency and predictability.
🏛️ EU regulatory representatives were present on stage to provide updates and answer questions regarding the progress of some of the most anticipated regulations, including WSR, PPWR, and EU 2022/1616.
🌍 The industry must prepare to manage increasing waste volumes starting from November this year, with a stronger focus on keeping European waste within Europe in order to meet recycled content targets.
🔄 In the current geopolitical context, Europe’s independence in raw materials is becoming increasingly important for the long-term resilience of the recycling industry.
PRSE once again confirmed the importance of bringing together all actors across the value chain to openly discuss market challenges, regulatory developments and future opportunities for the plastics recycling industry.
Thank you to everyone who met with us during the event — we look forward to continuing the conversations!
