At the SEMAFOR World Economy Summit, our CEO Daniel Clancy shares his work life balance tips for those looking to get into streaming. Check it out!
You don’t have to quit your 9-to-5 to do what you love. Work culture often glorifies taking big swings, but Twitch CEO Daniel Clancy shared a more practical perspective at the SEMAFOR World Economy Summit. For people who dream of becoming creators, Clancy says, “The vast majority of people who stream have a full-time job.” The reality is that many side hustles and passion projects are built outside traditional work hours, not instead of them. “ Start doing things that you love doing and that you'd like to be doing more of,” says Clancy. “Your best ideas don't always come 9-to-5.” What’s your best advice for building a side hustle while working full-time? I love this. It is very true
Twitch banned my Belarusian account in the summer of 2025 because I allegedly bought some fake Prime subscriptions for it, and I don't even know what it is or how it works, never received even 1c from Twitch. My appeal was automatically rejected by a bot, and when I tried to contact technical support via email, I received a rude response two days later, stating that I should follow the provided appeal form and not bother the bohemian support with such trivial matters as a banned account. I thought it was big misunderstanding and a bug, and since my account wasn't very popular, I decided to create another account where I've been streaming ever since. However, today 9 months later that I was banned but this time normally for registering second account while permanent ban on first. In my new appeal, I tried to explain how things were originally set up in the most accessible way possible, even for those who were genuinely stupid, but I was rejected by the bot within a few minutes of submitting the appeal.
Twitch is a company that exploits many people and has been pocketing most of the subscription fees for years. If you have connections, you can easily become a partner. They never promote you. They only get along with whoever is a sucker. Don't bother telling fairy tales here. As someone who wasted years on Twitch, I don't forgive them. Go to hell. Stop putting on a show Daniel Clancy .
