✨ New Blog Post: Understanding the ARC Act and Why It Matters ✨ I’m excited to share my latest published article, “Understanding the Affordable, Reliable, Clean Energy Security Act (ARC) and Why It Matters.” As the U.S. approaches its 250th anniversary, energy policy is at the center of national conversation. Rising electricity costs, grid reliability concerns, and increasing demand are pushing policymakers to rethink how federal agencies evaluate and prioritize energy decisions. In this piece, I break down what the ARC Act actually does, why its “affordable–reliable–clean” ranking is significant, and how it may reshape federal direction across all energy sources from oil and gas to renewables, nuclear, and emerging technologies. Drawing on more than four decades of work in energy regulation, mineral economics, oil & gas, renewable transactions, expert testimony, and natural-resources law, I explain why this legislation has gained traction and what it could mean for businesses, policymakers, and consumers. If you’re interested in U.S. energy policy, regulatory impacts, grid reliability, or the evolving balance between cost, resilience, and environmental priorities, I invite you to read the full article. 👉 Read the full blog here: https://lnkd.in/gsFzzCs3 Always happy to discuss questions related to energy law, mineral valuation, mediation, arbitration, upstream operations, or expert-witness engagements. #EnergyPolicy #ARCAct #EnergyRegulation #OilAndGas #RenewableEnergy #GridReliability #MineralEconomics #CleanEnergy #AllOfTheAbove #EnergyLaw #ExpertWitness #EnergyTransition #PolicyInsights #NaturalResourcesLaw

Here are the high-level takeaways from GB Energy's CEO Dan McGrail on their strategic plan. Here are some of their top aims: 👉 Establish a portfolio delivering at least 15 GW in clean energy generation and storage capacity, mobilising £15bn of private finance through to 2030. 👉 Support over 1,000 local and community energy projects by 2030, boosting community ownership across the UK. 👉 Catalyse a just transition by funding projects that support at least 10,000 jobs by 2030, including in skills and locations historically dependent on oil and gas. This includes a £1bn Energy, Engineered in the UK programme to grow our clean energy supply chain. Great to see local and community energy projects as some of their top aims. It will be great to see what the next few years will bring.

Gas remains a critical element of security of supply in the UK, responsible for nearly a third of electricity generation and almost all of our domestic heating. Gas is the subject of a new Government consultation, which will be vital in determining how we plan for a future with lower domestic production. We're ready to invest £2bn renovating our Rough storage field in the North Sea, so it can continue to play its role as the UK's largest strategic gas store. In the process, we'll be safeguarding energy supplies, protecting against price spikes, supporting thousands of skilled jobs and strengthening the industrial base in the Humber. In his latest blog, Chris O'Shea, our CEO, makes the case for a storage framework that delivers lasting value for consumers, industry and communities. 👉 https://lnkd.in/eX2JzRT3
