Today we mark International Day of Women and Girls in Science 🔬 It’s a day to recognise the women leading research, driving discovery and shaping the future of life sciences, and to reflect on the work still needed to create equal opportunity across STEM. When more voices are included, science becomes stronger. Research becomes broader. Outcomes become better. Progress depends on opening doors, challenging bias and building environments where talent can thrive. At SciPro, we’re proud to partner with organisations that are committed to doing just that. In the European Union, women represent 41% of the workforce in science and engineering, while accounting for 48% of PhD graduates. Although progress has been made in closing the education gap, further efforts are still needed to ensure equal opportunities for women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). A career in the scientific ecosystem is widely recognized as rewarding and intellectually stimulating, offering continuous learning and long-term professional growth. At Fusion for Energy, the vital contribution of women in science is being highlighted through a series of interviews with five talented colleagues working across diverse fields. Each of them is shaping science in her own way, underscoring the importance of inclusivity and collaboration in advancing research and innovation. Together, they work to better understand today’s challenges and address the pressing issues of tomorrow — including sustainable energy solutions. Their profiles offer insight into what science means to them and how they are helping to shape the future. You can also meet and engage with them at Impactpool events — starting with Women in STEM on March 26. Sign up today to hear from them directly and join the conversation. I volunteer with Women, Life and Science because I want to keep girls and women in Science. My first experience meeting a scientist was with a Marine Biologist who came to my elementary school. Her enthusiasm for the life found in the Ocean was contagious. I never questioned whether or not I could be a scientist just because I was a girl based on this early exposure to a role model. Drivers impacting STEM interest in girls: 1) Having visible female role models 2) Gaining practical experience through hands-on experiments 3) Teacher mentors 4) Real-life applications towards career development 5) Confidence in equality For more info on Women & Girls in STEM, check out my book chapter "Empowered to Lead: How Women in STEM Can Navigate Challenges and Maximize Impact" published in Evolution of Leadership in STEM: Women Catalyzing Change. #STEM #WLS #CareerCatalystEdge
Today, we celebrate the curiosity, courage, and brilliance of women and girls who dare to ask questions and change the world with the answers. Science thrives when every voice is heard. Yet many women and girls still face barriers to education, opportunity, and recognition in STEM fields. This day is a reminder that representation matters, mentorship matters, and creating inclusive spaces in science matters. To the girls dreaming of becoming scientists: you belong here. To the women leading, discovering, and innovating: your work lights the way. Let’s continue to support, uplift, and amplify women and girls in science—today and every day. #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience #WomenInScience #GirlsInSTEM #WomenLifeAndScience #STEMForAll

Happy International Day of Women and Girls in Science! 🌍✨ Today, we honor women in science whose paths and achievements continue to shape and inspire their fields. This map 🗺️ shows all the places where women from HeiGIT have studied, worked, done research, and shared their knowledge through jobs, seminars, conferences, and academic trips around the world. Women in science help drive innovation, build international partnerships, and bring diverse perspectives that strengthen research, make it more inclusive and more relevant worldwide. At the same time, we recognize that there is still progress to be made. Women remain underrepresented in many STEM fields, and improvement requires continued support, visibility, and opportunity. At HeiGIT, the international experiences of women help us connect to places, people, and ideas across borders. By highlighting these journeys, we hope to inspire women and girls to pursue paths in science. Let's celebrate women and girls whose work in science makes a lasting difference globally. #WomenInSTEM #WomenInScience

I have never regretted to become a researcher and scientist. Still, I have to admit that it is not the easiest path to choose. One of the reasons is that your chances to have an unlimted contract are low and are generally often postponed to your mid-forties, another is the precarious situation of not knowing whether (and where) you‘ll find a new position after yet another limited contract. However, I have made it, despite being a single mom, and I just love the continuous intellectual challenge and inspiration. Despite still being a minority, it was especially female scientists who had the biggest impact on my career. So, join us and have an impact, too, fellow women. 🫶🏻

Today is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. On this day, P&G recognize the critical role women play in advancing innovation, research, and technology across industries. As women in STEM, our work contributes not only to scientific progress but also to building stronger, more diverse teams that drive better outcomes. Representation matters—not just in who enters the field, but in who leads, influences decisions, and shapes the future of science and technology. Continued investment in inclusive cultures, mentorship, and equitable opportunities is essential to ensuring that women and girls can thrive in STEM careers. When organizations support diverse scientific talent, everyone benefits. #PGEmployee #WomenInSTEM #PGInnovation #InternationalDayOfWomenAndGirlsInScience

Women make up only about one third of researchers worldwide, yet diverse perspectives are essential to advancing discovery, innovation and impact. This UNESCO International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we’re spotlighting women across Sydney Quantum Academy partner universities who are helping shape the future of quantum — including Danielle Holmes, Christina Giarmatzi, Irina Kabakova and Xanthe Croot. Their insights offer guidance for women and girls considering quantum careers — and a reminder of why inclusion matters in shaping the field’s future. 👉 Read the full article: https://lnkd.in/gEjUqUvS #WomenInScience #EveryVoiceInScience #quantumwomen #IDWGS #womeninstem

On the 2026 International Day of Women and Girls in Science, BioIVT proudly celebrates #WomenInSTEM and the leaders driving progress toward closing the gender gap. This year’s theme, “From Vision to Impact,” shines a light on the everyday actions and support systems helping make STEM more inclusive. When we asked BioIVT leaders Joanna Barbara, PhD and Cathie G. Miller, PhD to reflect on moments that meaningfully advanced women in STEM, a powerful throughline emerged: agency, support, and the freedom for women to let their work define their careers. Drs. Barbara and Miller’s stories highlight how preconceptions, especially around family and personal lives, can influence career paths, and how mentorship, guidance, support, and a conscious effort to challenge false beliefs help everyone thrive in STEM. By removing unnecessary barriers and creating space for self-advocacy, we can continue to broaden access, opportunity, and belonging. Today, we’re grateful for the women at BioIVT who lead by example, lift others as they grow, and help create pathways for the next generation of scientists. Read Joanna and Cathie’s thoughts below and hear more from other BioIVT leaders, including Lois Haupt, Amanshe Slaney, Wini Luty, Courtney Noah, and Laurie Fuller as they share their perspectives on inclusivity, growth, and progress in the life sciences here: https://hubs.ly/Q042hQX70 #LetHerLead #InternationalDayofWomenandGirlsinScience #GirlsinScience #LeadHERship #Equity
