🛬 One change to a firewall brought down an entire airline’s network. 💸 16,000 cancelled flights. 2 million passengers affected. $150M in losses. And the ripple effects carried across countries. ✈️ NetBrain Senior Partner Sales Executive Mark West joined APNT | Network Technology’s Apollo Podcast to talk about how airlines can avoid this scenario by operating with full network visibility and continuous assessment before something goes wrong. 🎥 Watch the clip:

One theme stands out in The State of Aviation 2025: Air Transport IT Insights: as operational margins tighten, performance increasingly depends on real‑time coordination - not just automation. When airports, service teams and digital channels operate from shared, accurate information, issues are identified earlier and disruption is contained faster. That shared operational view is becoming essential to resilience across aviation operations. New #podcast episode out! Steven Moore, Head of Air Traffic Management Operations at EUROCONTROL, and Yolanda Portillo, Head of the Network Manager Operations Centre (#NMOC) explain to us in this episode how operational actors can best work together with us – and call on them, when making their operational decisions, to #thinkNetwork, considering the impact and effects on the network as a whole.🧠✈️ As Europe heads into another busy summer season, #NM the EUROCONTROL Network Manager is working closely with #airlines, air navigation service providers (#ANSPs) & #airports to prepare for peak traffic levels and increasing operational complexity. Steven & Yolanda share how we are getting ready for #Summer2026✈️ — and why collaboration across the aviation system is more important than ever. With traffic continuing to grow, airspace constraints, weather disruption and geopolitical developments putting pressure on operations, more than ever operational stakeholders should #thinkNetwork🧠✈️ when taking decisions that can impact the network as a whole. 🔁To help minimise disruption and improve predictability, Steven and Yolanda encourage all operational partners to focus on six key #thinkNetwork🧠✈️ priorities: 1️⃣ Disciplined flight plan execution – as flying as filed, especially vertically, helps ensure we use all available capacity in the airspace 2️⃣ Realistic scheduling and accurate departure time updates (PDP i) – keeping off block times realistic improves predictability and maximises capacity across the network. 3️⃣ Prioritising the first rotation of the day – so that the first flight of the day leaves on time reducing knock-on delay over the day 4️⃣ Delivering agreed capacities – sticking to declared capacity wherever safely possible to maintain network stability. 5️⃣Adverse weather and capacity management 6️⃣ Greater use of datalink – reducing radio congestion & giving controllers more time to manage traffic safely. 🎯 As Yolanda reminds us, the #NMOC is working 24/7 to support operations across Europe. And as Steven stresses, no matter how busy it gets, safety always comes first. 👉 Listen to the full episode and discover how #thinkingNetwork🧠✈️ helps keep Europe moving this summer: https://lnkd.in/eNbbTj8Y

Stop scaling your headcount and start scaling your range. 🔭 If your operations still look like the left side of this image, you’ve hit a ceiling. Manual observation limits your range and inflates your mission operating costs. It’s the ultimate bottleneck—relying on line-of-sight and massive field teams just to keep eyes on the target. At AirSafe, we’re helping industries move past the binocular era. By digitizing oversight and centralizing command, we remove the logistical weight of a ground crew, allowing you to: - Expand your reach beyond human visual limits. - Slash overhead by reducing onsite personnel requirements. - Streamline data directly to the people who need it most. Efficiency isn’t about working harder in the field; it’s about having the right platform to leave the field behind. Ready to break the bottleneck? #AirSafe #OperationalEfficiency #RemoteOversight #DroneTech #FutureOfWork #CostOptimization

Our SITA IT Insights report, The State of Aviation, is out, and it confirms what’s buzzing across the industry. IT and tech investment are still rising: ✈️ Airlines: $36B 🛫 Airports: $14.8B No surprise there. What is interesting: 80%+ of the industry already uses data to run operations. AI is quietly becoming part of the daily workflow. So what’s the catch? 👉 Data still doesn’t play nice. Almost half of airlines and a third of airports say integration is the biggest blocker. Same story with digital identity - progress stalls without better coordination. We’re past the “adopt the tech” phase. Now it’s about making it all work together. Here’s the real issue: Everyone optimises their area: gate agents, crew, ground ops. No one optimises the whole system. So the shortest delay snowballs into hours of disruption. Not because of bad decisions, but because of good ones made in isolation. The fix? Not more data. 👉 Connected data. Moving faster than the disruption. That’s where the real value is. Watching how an airport operates, I realized: Scale only works when control is built into the system. Every process is designed to prevent: -Delays -Security risks -Operational chaos Not react to them. In business, we often try to scale first and fix later. Without the right guardrails, growth starts creating pressure - on cost, compliance, and performance. That is where systems need to do more than support operations. They need to protect outcomes. Travel thoughts - relevant to how we build and scale. How are others approaching this as they scale? #DecisionIntelligence #SupplyChainInnovation #Scalex
