Last week in Los Angeles, our CEO Kim Schaefer represented Museum of Illusions at the Entertainment Experience Evolution (EEE) Conference — a key industry gathering focused on the future of experiential and location-based entertainment. Kim joined the panel alongside Zachary Lyman (Brightwood), Pieter Martens (Time Mission), Jonathan Cooper, CFA, Charles Bragitikos, and Robert Cooper (LOL Entertainment), bringing together operators and investors shaping scalable entertainment platforms. A clear takeaway from the discussion: success in experiential today goes beyond creating memorable moments. It requires operational excellence, strong strategic partnerships, and concepts designed to scale globally while remaining locally relevant. Proud to be part of the conversation driving the next evolution of immersive entertainment. 📸: P. Martens/Linkedin

We spend so much time fearing what we don’t understand - especially when it comes to technology. We question it, we resist it, we worry about what it might take away. But moments like this remind me of what it can give. Because when used with intention, technology has the power to expand life… not limit it. To bring the world to those who can no longer go out and meet it themselves. Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about what it means to watch someone you love grow older. To see their world slowly become smaller - not by choice, but by circumstance. The places they once went, the experiences they once had so effortlessly, now just out of reach. And that’s where this hits differently. Because maybe technology isn’t just about progress… maybe it’s about preservation. Preserving access. Preserving joy. Preserving a sense of wonder. Maybe it’s about giving someone the feeling of being somewhere again…of traveling, of seeing, of living…even when their body no longer allows it. In a world where we’re all chasing longevity, maybe the real question isn’t just how long we live… but how fully we’re able to experience life along the way.
Geek Out: Hope for the Future Of My Entertainment! An immersive “train” is now letting seniors travel the world without leaving their care home, complete with surround visuals, sound, and shared experiences that bring back memories and spark joy 🤔Think about that. Entertainment that can take you everywhere… and nowhere at the same time. We talk a lot about the future of interactive entertainment in terms of scale, spectacle, and technology. Now Experiences can adapt to people, adapt to meet them where they are and still make them feel like they’re part of something bigger! That’s the Future worth building. One of the biggest shifts happening in entertainment right now is this: IP is no longer expanding across platforms. It is expanding across places. A story might begin as a film, a series, or a game. But when the world is strong enough, it naturally starts to move into the physical environment. Theme parks. Immersive exhibitions. Touring experiences. Destination developments. Each expression gives audiences a different way to interact with the same narrative universe. The interesting challenge is not simply building more experiences. It is making sure the world holds together as it expands. The IP that succeeds in physical space tends to have three things: A clear mythology. Characters people want to follow. And a world that feels bigger than any single story. When those ingredients exist, expansion stops feeling like adaptation and starts feeling like exploration. And that is when a story begins to behave less like content… and more like a living ecosystem. #IPStrategy #WorldBuilding #LocationBasedEntertainment #DestinationStrategy #ExperienceEconomy #Storytelling #EntertainmentIndustry

Sandpit Creations has delivered a touring immersive activation for the upcoming TV series Alien: Earth, bringing the iconic sci-fi franchise into a live environment for audiences across Europe. Developed in collaboration with Experience12, the activation launched at MCM Comic Con London before touring multiple locations. Visitors explored a cinematic walkthrough experience set inside the wreckage of a crashed spacecraft, combining scenic fabrication, interactive technology and narrative design. The project demonstrates how immersive installations are increasingly being used to promote film and television properties, blending storytelling with experiential engagement. For Sandpit Creations, it also highlights the engineering and logistical challenges of designing large-scale scenic builds capable of touring internationally. As brands and studios continue to invest in experiential marketing, projects like this illustrate the growing role of immersive environments in connecting audiences with entertainment IP. #ExperienceEconomy #ImmersiveExperience #ExperientialMarketing #VisitorAttractions #EntertainmentIndustry #Storytelling #FilmAndTV #CreativeTechnology #TouringExhibitions
