We loved working on this for The Rex - formerly Hotel Gotham Manchester, following its rebrand - marking a fresh chapter for one of the city’s most iconic buildings on King Street.
The 60-room hotel officially reopened under its new name last week, following a rebrand designed to reposition the venue as a destination for both overnight stays and private members’ experiences.
All the best to Jenny Oh MIH and the team, we can't wait to follow The Rex's journey 👏
Welcome to the Racks, Manchester's new hotel to know. Let's have a look around. So here we are in the strong room built within the old bank vaults of the hotel. We are underground so floor -2 at this space is used for private dining, snooker, 5 course tasting menus and we also use it for conferences and business meetings as well. It's the perfect starting to feel like a VIP because no one knows you're down here. So this is Rain Restaurant based on the 6th floor of the hotel. We serve afternoon tea and five course tasting menus. But the great thing about this space is that it's open to everyone. My name is Bartosh, I'm the executive chef at the Rex Hotel. So the highlight of the rest are in is five course tasting menu with the globally inspired approach. I've worked in many different places in the world. I've worked with insanely passionate and amazing executive chefs and I would like to. Introduce that here and directs first course. We have umami white onion cream there which is very light. The second dish is a definition of ocean where we showcasing the white crab meat that goes together with Argentinian prone. The next dish is a Dicon that sits on the bottom of roasted fennel puree lamb Canon cooked to perfection. That dish is a harmony between subtle and bold flavours because you have BBQ. Grapes on it and some heritage cherry tomatoes. I'm very passionate about light desserts, so in this case we showcasing our Faberge egg. This is the bank manager suite 1 of the top suites that we have at the Rats. These are so named because they were used to be the bank managers offices when we were the Midland Bank. We have 60 rooms throughout the hotel and one of the most unique rooms that we have is called the Inner Sanctum Suite. We have leather padded walls, a huge wonder wall that you can watch views of Paris or London and you really feel like you're in your own little sanctuary. Here we are at Reserve which is our private members bar which is open to members and residents of the hotel during your stay. This is the perfect place for catching up with friends for a coffee or a cocktail, enjoying some small plates out on the terraces when the sun shining in Manchester. As you can see here we get the morning sun, around the corner we get the afternoon and the other side of the building we get the beautiful sunset. Out of being a member, you'll of course get to use this beautiful space, but there are a number of other benefits that come along with membership here at Reserve. They include discounts off accommodation and food and beverage throughout the hotel, but we also have a monthly event calendar for our members to enjoy. It's just nice to have a place to escape from the city and we'd love to see you up there sometime.
Looks fab 👏🏻👌🏻
