Great week at SATELLITE 2026. Lynk was in the thick of every conversation that matters for the future of direct-to-device connectivity. Our CEO Ramu Potarazu joined SES' Adel Al-Saleh for the Tuesday Opening Fireside Chat to lay out the strategic vision behind our forthcoming merger with Omnispace and what it means for truly global D2D coverage. EVP & Chief Global Affairs Officer Amy Mehlman brought her perspective to a VIP panel tackling one of the industry's biggest questions: can satellite D2D go truly mainstream? And our CTO Dr. Joe Bravman took the stage at the CTO Forum alongside industry leaders to dig into spectrum sharing, multi-orbit integration, signal processing advances, and the future of #D2D and #5G over satellite. This week proved there is lots of momentum building across this industry and many more big things to come! 🛰️ 📲 🌎 #Satcom #D2D #SatWeek SES Satellites #omnispace Via Satellite

Satellite is no longer just a backhaul story. At SatShow 2026, one shift stood out clearly: satcom is becoming an extension of the telecom core. Operators are moving toward tighter integration with telcos and hyperscalers, while multi-orbit strategies (GEO + MEO + LEO) are shaping how networks deliver both resilience and performance. At the same time, software-defined satellites and cloud-native architectures are redefining how these systems are built and scaled. And perhaps most importantly, sovereignty is being redefined; not just by ownership of assets, but by control over access, data and policy. The satellite industry has the technology to connect the 2.2 billion people who remain without connectivity. Chipsets are ready. Standards are maturing. Constellations are being built. So, what is holding us back? Ali Al Hashemi, Chairman of GSOA and CEO of Space Services at Space42, shares his perspective on how the satellite industry is working to connect the more than two billion people who remain without connectivity. The article addresses how non-terrestrial networks are integrating into global mobile ecosystems, what shared infrastructure models and modernized regulatory frameworks need to look like to support that transition, and how the sector must manage responsible growth as constellations expand. Motorola Solutions Extends Resilient, Mission-Critical Communications and AI with T-Satellite from T-Mobile https://lnkd.in/eaYSSSrQ Motorola Solutions and T-Mobile announced a collaboration to bring satellite connectivity to Motorola Solutions' APX NEXT smart radios. The radios, designed to intelligently unify networks including land mobile radio (LMR), 5G and Wi-Fi, can now operate leveraging T-Priority from T-Mobile - bringing first responders more capacity and faster speeds. They can also access T-Satellite with Starlink’s low earth orbit (LEO) direct-to-cell satellite network for seamlessly extended connectivity. Together, these technologies deliver resilient communications and real-time intelligence for first responders wherever the mission leads.

UNIVITY has raised €27M Series A to advance its VLEO satellite constellation, bringing total funding to ~€67M. The model is clear: a wholesale, space-based connectivity layer for telecom operators, designed to integrate with 5G networks rather than compete for end users. Near term, the focus is on two demo satellites (uniShape) to validate end-to-end performance. Longer term, the roadmap points to a ~3,400-satellite VLEO constellation. It’s a technically ambitious bet (VLEO comes with real constraints) but the positioning is deliberate: extend terrestrial networks via space, not replace them. The SATCOM shift is accelerating. But not everyone will make the transition. Right now, we’re seeing a clear divide: • Businesses leaning into LEO, hybrid networks, and new models • And those still trying to defend legacy positions The reality? This isn’t just a technology shift. It’s a mindset shift. The companies asking “how do we protect what we have?” Are already behind those asking “what do we become next?” In the conversations I’m having, that gap is widening fast. Which side of it are you on? #DigitalMaritime #Satcom
