AI governance isn’t a checkbox—it’s a strategic imperative in the age of generative AI. Here are 3 best practices to strengthen your AI governance: 1. Start with risk mapping: Identify high-impact AI use cases, data sensitivity and regulatory touchpoints early in the project lifecycle. 2. Embed continuous auditing: Monitor model performance and decision outputs in real time to detect drift, bias or compliance gaps before they escalate. 3. Foster cross-functional oversight: Establish a governance board with legal, IT, ethics and business stakeholders for policy alignment and rapid response. These practices help you build AI systems that are not only innovative but also transparent and accountable. How is your team evolving its AI governance playbook to keep pace with new regulations and emerging risks? #AIGovernance #RiskManagement

A recent survey shows that board‑level governance of AI has more than tripled since 2024. For NEDs, advisors and investors: this isn’t just a tech issue — it’s a strategic governance challenge. From a board perspective, it means: the usual “tech committee” no longer suffices. Boards need to integrate AI risk, ethics and strategic opportunity at the full table. Oversight frameworks must evolve as fast as the technology itself. Treat AI strategy as a board agenda item, not as an off‑shoot of the CIO’s remit. When was the last time your board explicitly reviewed “AI opportunity & risk” as a standalone agenda item — and what changed as a result? #NED #BoardGovernance #AI #RiskOversight #DigitalStrategy #TechGovernance #CorporateGovernance

By 2028, AI agents could be making up to 15% of day-to-day business decisions. Yet many organizations are still flying blind when it comes to compliance. The truth is, the AI “Wild West” isn’t about a lack of regulation; it’s about the rush to deploy powerful tools without fully understanding how existing laws apply. As AI becomes embedded across every business function, leaders must ask themselves: Can we innovate quickly while staying compliant and ethical? #AICompliance #AIGovernance #ResponsibleAI #RiskManagement #FutureOfWork #DigitalTransformation

The next era of AI governance won’t live in PDFs. It’ll live in runtime. Recent conversations around prEN 18286 and AI governance show a clear shift: Compliance frameworks are maturing, but enforcement still happens after the fact. That’s the gap Null fills. Null Lens codifies intent directly into the system layer — transforming governance from a checklist into an executable contract. Instead of asking “what did the system do?”, teams can now ask “did it act within its defined Motive, Scope, and Priority?” Governance stops being retrospective. It becomes provable, auditable, and alive. 🔹 Codified intent → deterministic reasoning 🔹 Real-time proof of accountability 🔹 Systems that can explain themselves The ethics board era is ending. The runtime accountability era has begun. #AIGovernance #ResponsibleAI #AIInfrastructure #Compliance #AIAudit #NullLens

A huge thank you to ISBA for inviting me to speak to this very "on topic" session on Generative AI Governance, alongside two AI heavy hitters, Shireen Peermohamed (Partner, Harbottle & Lewis) and Alyssa Fenoglio (Founder The Human Algorithm Advisory). We unpacked what Responsible AI really means for marketers - from understanding the latest legal developments, including the EU AI Act and IP litigation, to tackling the practical steps brands can take right now to assess, manage, and govern AI risks effectively. In my section, I shared Bonsai’s Three Pillars of AI Risk Framework: A practical AI risk assessment model shaped by years of trial, error, and hands-on work with global brands including Unilever and Diageo. It was born from one simple goal: to make AI risk feel manageable. The framework breaks risk into three simple parts - Input, Tooling, and Output - so that legal, compliance, and marketing teams can see where issues sit, act fast, and still keep pace with innovation. Today, it’s become the backbone of AI governance for several major organisations, helping them turn Responsible AI from an aspiration into something operational and scalable. If you missed the session, ISBA has shared the full slide deck here: 👉 https://lnkd.in/erY9gSzP And if you’re an ISBA member who’d like a free copy of the Three Pillars of AI Risk Framework, just comment below with the words “AI Framework” and I’ll share a free download code. Thanks again to everyone who joined, shared ideas, and asked thoughtful questions about what good AI governance really looks like in practice. #ResponsibleAI #AIgovernance #ISBA #Marketing #AIethics #GenerativeAI #LegalTech #Bonsai #Bonsaiblue

“Organisations must introduce guidance, guardrails and frameworks as they roll out any AI tool in the workplace.” Ben Knowles’ insight in Clyde & Co's latest Corporate Risk Radar 2025 says it all. AI promises efficiency, but without clear frameworks, the risks can outweigh the benefits. Legal teams and other departments need to be proactive in shaping how these tools are used.
