"End-of-life care is not just about getting the medications right or saying the right words. It is also about learning how to reflect on and sometimes manage our own emotions." Last week we ran our traditional final simulations with Arcada University of Applied Sciences soon-to-graduate 🚑 paramedic students (one of the few sim days I still particate in). Moving from earlier years clinical competencies and advanced team resilience to professionalism, we reach the topic of death and dying. In these scenarios and debriefings, focus often deliberately moves from technical and teamwork towards identifying our own professional values, roles and managing our emotional containers. The challenge of accepting that in prehospital emergency care, thoughtfully respecting a wish to die at home without interventions might be framed as an act of caring, a good outcome. Not always easy when "success" in 🚑 is often measured by action and assertiveness. And that's precisely why it's important for us to reflect on. "...what exactly are we rehearsing when we simulate dying? For me, the answer is not that we are rehearsing failure. We are rehearsing care." Could not agree more. Thanks for eloquently raising this topic, Victoria Brazil. https://lnkd.in/dYAwBK7i

There’s a moment every new graduate experiences—when the textbooks close, the exams are over, and the responsibility becomes real. It’s exciting… but it can also be overwhelming. That’s why mentoring isn’t just a “nice to have.” It’s essential. Early in a clinician’s career, the difference between simply getting through the day and truly growing in confidence often comes down to the environment around them. Strong mentorship provides guidance, reassurance, and perspective when it’s needed most. It turns uncertainty into momentum. Pair that with structured continuing education and an orthopedic residency, and something powerful happens. Confidence builds faster. Clinical decision-making sharpens. Burnout risk decreases. And work starts to feel less like survival—and more like purpose. At Benchmark, we’ve made a deliberate investment in this process. We don’t just hire new graduates—we develop them. Through intentional mentorship, ongoing education, and our orthopedic residency program, we create a pathway where clinicians can grow into the best version of themselves. Not years down the road—but starting on day one. And here’s what often gets overlooked: When clinicians feel supported, they don’t just perform better—they live better. They go home with more clarity. They carry less stress. They build careers they’re proud of. That leads to something every organization should care about—long-term career satisfaction and sustainable work-life balance. For us, this isn’t just a program. It’s a leadership priority. Because when we invest in our people at the beginning of their journey, we strengthen every clinic, every team, and every patient experience that follows. The future of our profession depends on how well we develop the next generation. We’re committed to getting that right.

There is research out there that is looking at the gap between the job demands and the actual new grad competence…. In that gap lives insecurity, strain, stress, perceived failure, and all the makings of burnout. That’s where we work and live. Our quality team is committed to narrowing that gap and working to snuff out burnout before it starts. It’s clear what got us here won’t get us there. #physicaltherapy #technology #burnout #mentorship #clinicalquality

📌 3 Lessons for Marketing Admissions in Residency Programs 👉 It is essential to develop a nuanced understanding of the target audience, primarily medical students, and to actively nurture their professional aspirations to pursue residency training at VinUniversity. This requires not only demographic awareness but also a deep appreciation of their motivations, career trajectories, and decision-making processes. 👉 Marketing efforts should function as a strategic bridge between prospective candidates and the program’s core value propositions. These include the prestige of the residency programs, the excellence of the faculty, and, importantly, the authentic narratives of current and former residents. Such storytelling serves to humanize the program and enhance its relatability and appeal. 👉 A comprehensive understanding of the medical profession is indispensable. This encompasses insights into the mindset, expectations, and challenges faced by aspiring physicians. Translating these insights into clear, accessible, and credible messaging is crucial for fostering trust and strengthening the perceived value of the programs among prospective applicants. And to start the new admissions open in the Academic year 2026 - 2027, I would like to represent the Introduction Video of VinUniversity Residency Programs, included 6 programs: Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Anesthesiology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Radiology, and Pediatrics. 👉 Learn more: https://lnkd.in/gBKabeEZ

It’s been over 8 months since I completed my medical degree, and honestly, this phase has been a bit different from what I expected. Like most medical graduates, I was so focused on exams, rotations, and getting through med school that I never really thought about what comes after. And once it did end, I realized that figuring out the next step isn’t as straightforward as I imagined. I also didn’t start posting here earlier, partly because I felt like I didn’t have much to show. No clear direction, no major wins and that held me back more than I’d like to admit. But I’m starting to see that not every phase needs to look “impressive” to be meaningful. Sometimes, it’s just about learning, exploring, and slowly finding your way. I’m a neurosurgery and neuroscience aspirant, currently trying to understand where I fit and how I want to move forward in healthcare. So I thought I’d start here, sharing my journey as it unfolds. For those who’ve been through a similar phase, I’d genuinely appreciate your perspective, how did you figure things out?

On National Doctors’ Day, we celebrate not only those practicing medicine today, but also those on the journey toward it. Ebere Chukwu’s story reflects the power of early exposure, mentorship, and opportunity in shaping future healthcare leaders. Through The Pathway Initiative (TPI), her curiosity in neuroscience evolved into a clear path toward a career in medicine, demonstrating how intentional support systems can transform potential into purpose. As the demand for skilled professionals in fields like neuroscience continues to grow globally, investing in the next generation of doctors has never been more critical. Enrollment is now open for the April 2026 cohort of the Virtual Hand Therapy Fellowship. Designed for clinicians seeking specialization in upper limb and hand therapy, this fellowship addresses a critical knowledge gap through a structured, curriculum-based approach to continuing education paired with personalized mentorship. Our central mission is to cultivate specialist-level critical thinking so that clinical practice becomes more effective, more rewarding, and less stressful. The April 2026 cohort reflects a comprehensive curriculum revision completed in 2025 as part of our ongoing commitment to aligning the program with evolving evidence and best practices in upper limb and hand rehabilitation. From the outset, fellows engage in experiential learning supported by mentorship that facilitates the direct translation of knowledge into clinical practice. The curriculum is evidence-informed, academically rigorous, and intentionally designed to support diverse learning needs while allowing flexibility for individual clinical goals. Early enrollment provides extended access to foundational content, mentorship, and program resources before the formal start of the cohort. “We’ve been educated as generalists. Our mission is to educate you as specialists.” Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dD37yVvj #HandTherapy #CertifiedHandTherapist #OccupationalTherapy #Physiotherapy #ContinuingEducation #UpperLimbRehabilitation #ProfessionalDevelopment #virtualhandfellowship
