HOW DO YOU INTEGRATE AI INTO YOUR WORK? It goes without saying that AI and the conversations around it are now commonplace. That said, there is still a great deal of uncertainty when it comes to using it effectively. A key part of this is understanding where we continue to add the most value, and ensuring we use these tools to augment, not replace that. When used well, AI can increase both efficiency and impact. This month, we challenge you to combine human + AI to craft an effective communication. The May instalment of the #SWDChallenge invites you to work with an AI tool of your choice to explore, analyse, and or create a data visualisation. As you do, consider where you are adding value and where AI is particularly helpful. We look forward to seeing what you share. Deadline: May 31st 🔗 Link to the challenge: https://lnkd.in/eURahgK8

AI is useful, but it should not do the thinking for us. For me, the real value is in using AI as a working partner: to explore ideas faster, test possible angles, and make communication clearer. But human value still sits in the judgment: asking the right question, reading the context, checking the claim, and deciding what the audience actually needs to see. A visual can look good and still miss the point. Soooo, yea. The strongest use of AI is not outsourcing the work. It is using it as a sparring partner while keeping the responsibility for meaning, accuracy, and clarity with the human. #SWDChallenge #DataVisualization #AI

Most organisations now have: ✅ AI Champions ✅ AI Steering Groups ✅ AI Learning Hubs ✅ AI Awareness Weeks ✅ AI Comms Plans …but actual day-to-day AI usage is often still: “Can you summarise this Teams meeting?” The next phase of AI maturity isn’t more fancy pillars or bigger launch campaigns. It’s redesigning work itself. Is your organisation measuring AI adoption… or AI theatre? #AI

AI should enhance the system, not subsidize it. There is a fundamental difference between using AI for substitution and using it for augmentation: 1. Substitution (The Subsidy): Using AI to do the same volume of work with fewer people. This is a race to the bottom. You lower your burn rate, but your growth remains static. 2. Augmentation (The Enhancement): Using AI to increase the output ceiling of your existing team. When a researcher who produced 1 report a week now produces 5, you aren't cutting costs, you're capturing market share. The goal isn't a leaner payroll. The goal is a more powerful orchestration system. Stop looking for the cheapest way to run your current process. Start looking for the most scalable way to dominate your market. #AIStrategy #OperationalExcellence #Scaling #AgenticWorkflows

AI Is Becoming an Execution Layer In earlier phases, AI required constant human prompting. You asked. It answered. You guided. It responded. But now, AI systems are starting to: • carry out multi-step tasks • execute workflows • operate across tools This is a move toward AI as an execution layer. And once AI starts executing, the question changes: Not “What can it generate?” But “What can it run?” That’s a very different level of leverage.
