In OT environments, risk rarely comes from a single issue. It builds over time across systems, tools and access points. And without proper visibility, monitoring and control, OT systems can be left exposed to cyber threats. Risk compounds across systems. At settlement, it shows. Each system validates its layer. Across the full path, it isn’t measured end-to-end. Across live corridors, expected doesn’t match final. Sent Expected Final When those don’t lock, the gap forms in transit. Across volume, that compounds.

Totally on board! 🤩 Coming from a mechanical background, one additional aspect to consider is that IT/OT convergence will be mission critical for aligning on common outcomes with respect to your industrial systems, asset performance, process automation, and safety. These types of collaborative workstreams are essential for long term Asset Performance Management (APM) success. Ultimately monitoring and maintaining industrial assets to perform at optimal capacity without the risk of causing shutdowns or jeopardizing reliability. Love to compare notes :)

The "risk builds over time" framing is the right one. Most plants can do a one-time assessment and find 200 vulns. The harder problem is keeping that picture current when integrators add a new HMI every quarter. Does the assessment lifecycle in the guide cover change-driven re-scoring?

Really important point on balancing innovation with sustainability. As AI grows, so does the pressure on energy systems and infrastructure. The OT cyber risk angle is also a reminder that visibility and control can’t be optional anymore. Honeywell

Visibility across OT environments is often the starting point, but not the end state. Over time, the real value sits in how that visibility informs decisions, prioritisation and response across the estate, particularly where systems are interdependent.

Absolutely true OT security isn’t just about fixing one gap, it’s about having continuous visibility across the entire environment. Small vulnerabilities can quickly turn into major risks without the right monitoring and control in place.
