Both our Deputy Director, Charles Wood and Head of Future Retail Markets, Daisy Cross, appeared at Utility Week Live today. Charles joined a panel exploring ‘Devolved energy planning: from delivery to local communities and customers’. He was joined by Jennifer Pemberton, Head of RESP Regions – South and Wales at National Energy System Operator; Lynne McDonald, Head of Local Net Zero at UK Power Networks; and Philip Glanville, Director of Advocacy and Engagement at UK100. The session was chaired by Utility Week Editor-in-Chief, James Wallin. Charles also chaired a panel on “Enabling market access, removing barriers to participation, and automating flexibility.” Speakers included Alex H., Head of Flexibility Markets at UK Power Networks DSO; Emma Burns, Market Design Manager at Octopus Energy; and Steven Gough, Head of Flexibility at Elexon. Daisy chaired a panel on “Innovation in behaviour change: influencing household and non-household customer actions.” Speakers included Amy Conlen, Strategy & Propositions Lead at OVO; Mumin Islam, Trustee at Waterwise; and Jude Noro, Senior Associate Policy Lead – Water Resources at Ofwat. Daisy also chaired the ‘Driving short and medium flexible storage capacity in the UK’ panel.
