Both our Deputy Director, Charles Wood and Head of Future Retail Markets, Daisy Cross, appeared at Utility Week Live today. Charles joined a panel exploring ‘Devolved energy planning: from delivery to local communities and customers’. He was joined by Jennifer Pemberton, Head of RESP Regions – South and Wales at National Energy System Operator; Lynne McDonald, Head of Local Net Zero at UK Power Networks; and Philip Glanville, Director of Advocacy and Engagement at UK100. The session was chaired by Utility Week Editor-in-Chief, James Wallin. Charles also chaired a panel on “Enabling market access, removing barriers to participation, and automating flexibility.” Speakers included Alex H., Head of Flexibility Markets at UK Power Networks DSO; Emma Burns, Market Design Manager at Octopus Energy; and Steven Gough, Head of Flexibility at Elexon. Daisy chaired a panel on “Innovation in behaviour change: influencing household and non-household customer actions.” Speakers included Amy Conlen, Strategy & Propositions Lead at OVO; Mumin Islam, Trustee at Waterwise; and Jude Noro, Senior Associate Policy Lead – Water Resources at Ofwat. Daisy also chaired the ‘Driving short and medium flexible storage capacity in the UK’ panel. Speakers included Andy Hackett, Head of Policy at Centre for Net Zero (Octopus Energy Group), Katharine Baker,Interim Head of Future Energy Systems at EDF (UK), and Ben Krikler, PhD, Head of Energised Futures, and Director of Research and Innovation at Centrica
