🚌 Transportation planning relies on data from smartphone apps, GPS, vehicle sensors, and transit cards. But what about communities without smartphones? Workers who walk or bike? Rural areas with no public transit? When we only track some populations, we build transportation systems that only serve some people. 📸 TECNO’S MWC LAUNCH IS A SIGNAL: SMARTPHONES ARE REBRANDING AROUND AI TECNO announced it will unveil the CAMON 50 Series alongside an AI product ecosystem at MWC 2026. Smartphone launches used to be spec battles. Now they are workflow battles: - What can the camera pipeline do automatically? - How much editing can happen with minimal effort? - Can the device help complete tasks, not just run apps? The camera is the perfect wedge for AI adoption because the value is immediate and visual. But the bigger shift is that vendors are building “AI ecosystems” around the phone, aiming to make AI feel like a platform, not a feature. The challenge is consistency. If AI features are unreliable, users stop trusting them. If they are predictable and controllable, they become default behaviours. Which AI capability do you think most users will adopt first: photo workflows, messaging workflows, or voice-driven assistants? #ArtificialIntelligence #Mobile #OnDeviceAI #MWC #ConsumerTech

When standard navigation apps cannot help, #ExtendedReality can 🚀 A few years ago, we at Zühlke Group developed an #AugmentedReality application for #SBB, the Swiss national railway company. The application helps users find their way around large train stations in Switzerland, something that standard navigation apps, such as #GoogleMaps, usually cannot do. This is an interesting use case for #XR that shows how powerful this technology can be. The app was developed before the #XRGlasses hype, hence it was made for mobile phones. But imagine how much easier applications like this will be to use once XR glasses replace smartphones. Full case study: https://lnkd.in/eEXUh5cn #ARVR #VirtualReality #MixedReality #FutureOfTech

The next battle for smartphones has begun and it’s all about AI agents. At MWC 2026, the mobile industry signaled a major shift from traditional apps to AI-powered agents that understand user intent and complete tasks automatically. Instead of manually opening apps, future smartphones could act like proactive digital twins, handling services, recommendations, and workflows on your behalf. But this transformation also sparks a new power struggle. Hardware makers, software platforms, and big tech ecosystems are competing to control the AI layer that sits between users and apps, potentially reshaping the entire mobile economy. 📱 The era of tapping icons may slowly fade. 🤖 And the era of AI-first smartphones is just beginning. Will AI agents replace apps as the main gateway to digital services? #MWC2026 #ArtificialIntelligence #AIAgents #MobileTechnology #FutureOfTech #Smartphones #TechInnovation #DigitalTransformation #NextGenTech #AIRevolution #AnalyticsInsight #AnalyticsInsightMagazine

When will smartphones start to have agentic AI do the heavy lifting? Soon, according to this CNN article. "Samsung wants to change that with its Galaxy S26, a new series of smartphones announced Wednesday. The Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra phones will use AI to try to predict what a user wants to do next, and in some cases accomplish tasks on their behalf. To this end, Google is previewing a new feature for its Gemini assistant, starting with ride-sharing, grocery and food apps. Gemini could look at a list of guests for a barbecue, then work in the background to build a shopping cart with the right amount of food and supplies for everyone attending. Or, if an S26 user has a flight coming up in a couple of hours, the phone may display a button to call an Uber from the home or lock screen without having to launch the app. ..." #AI #smartphones #agenticAI #Samsung

📱 Why Smartphone Testing Matters Before Launch Before a smartphone reaches your hands, it goes through rigorous testing to ensure quality, performance, and reliability. Two key parts of this process are: . Functional Testing: Verifies that all features — calls, messaging, cameras, sensors, apps — work as intended. . Road Testing: Puts the device in real-world conditions — network handovers, roaming, and different coverage areas — to catch issues users might face. Logs & Monitoring: Every test generates logs. These are the digital footprints that help engineers track bugs, analyze failures, and ensure the device meets high standards. Catching problems before launch prevents costly recalls and keeps users happy. In short: Testing + logs = reliable smartphones that delight users from day one. #SmartphoneTesting #QA #FunctionalTesting #RoadTesting #Telecom #MobileTech #DevOps #QualityAssurance #TestingMatters #TechInsights
